REX?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Slice Handling<br \/>Selecting Slices<br \/>A selected slice is indicated by being highlighted in the waveform display. To<br \/>select a slice, use one of the following methods:<br \/> By clicking in the waveform display.<br \/>If you hold down [Option] (Mac) or [Alt] (Windows) and click on a slice in<br \/>the waveform display, it will be played back.<br \/> By using the &#8220;Slice&#8221; knob below the waveform display.<br \/> Via MIDI.<br \/>If you activate &#8220;Select Slice Via MIDI&#8221;, you can select and &#8220;play&#8221; slices us-ing<br \/>your MIDI keyboard. Slices are always mapped to consecutive semi-tone<br \/>steps, with the first slice always being on the &#8220;C1&#8221; key.<br \/> If you play back a loop with &#8220;Select via MIDI&#8221; option activated, each<br \/>consecutive slice is selected as it is played back.<br \/>You can edit parameters during playback.<br \/>Editing Individual Slices<br \/>There are two basic methods you can use to edit individual slices in Reason:<br \/> In the Waveform display of the Dr.Rex device.<br \/>This is used for making playback settings for a slice.<br \/> In the Sequencer.<br \/>Here you can edit the notes that play the slices. There is a special REX<br \/>lane for editing REX slice notes, with the notes indicated by the slice<br \/>numbers instead of by pitches. Editing in the sequencer is described in<br \/>the Sequencer chapter.<br \/>Editing in the Waveform Display<br \/>Here you are able to edit several parameters for each slice, by first selecting<br \/>it, and then using the knobs below the waveform display. The following slice<br \/>parameters can be set:<br \/>! If you have made settings to any of the parameters listed above,<br \/>these will be lost if you load a new REX file. All Dr.Rex panel set-tings<br \/>are stored in the Song. You cannot directly apply panel set-tings<br \/>to another REX file!<br \/>| Parameter | Description<br \/>Pitch Allows you to transpose each individual slice in semi-tone<br \/>steps, over a range of more than eight octaves.<br \/>Pan The stereo position of each slice.<br \/>Level The volume of each slice.
