Let’s demonstrate this by sending some signals<br \/>on Flex Bus 1 to ASSIGNABLE OUT 4. We can imagine that the<br \/>ASSIGNABLE 4 jack is connected to a track input on a multitrack<br \/>recorder.<br \/>Before we start, we’ll have to set up a second signal:<br \/>1. Connect a second mic or other type of input signal to Input 2 on the<br \/>processor.<br \/>2. Press PREAMP GAIN and use Input Channel 2’s fader to set its<br \/>preamp gain.<br \/>3. Press CH LEVEL and set Input Channel 2’s level to 100. Don’t<br \/>worry that you’re not hearing Input Channel 2’s signal-this is<br \/>because we’re not currently sending it into the main mix.<br \/>Now we’re ready to proceed:<br \/>1. Press FLEX BUS MASTER 1-12.<br \/>2. Hold down Flex Bus Channel 1’s CH EDIT button and press<br \/>MAIN\/CUE.<br \/>3. Press CURSOR UP to select the center row of parameters.<br \/>4. Turn V2 [BUS MODE] to set BUS MODE to EXT.<br \/>5. Press F2 [SET] to activate the re-configuration of Flex Bus 1.<br \/>6. Press CURSOR UP to select the top row of parameters.<br \/>You can see that Flex Bus 1 is currently routed to Multi Out 17,<br \/>which also feeds ASSIGNABLE OUT 1, as we said on Page 18.<br \/>7. Turn V3 to select Multi Out 17, and press F3 [SET] to de-activate<br \/>this connection.<br \/>8. Turn V3 to select Multi Out 20-the multi out that feeds<br \/>ASSIGNABLE OUT 4-and press F3 [SET] to activate this<br \/>connection. Flex Bus 1 is now routed to ASSIGNABLE OUT 4.<br \/>9. Press INPUT CH 1-24.<br \/>10. Press the round FLEX BUS 1 button.<br \/>In a real session, you could listen to what’s on Flex Bus 1 by<br \/>listening to the track on the multitrack recorder through one of the<br \/>VM-7000’s input or multi in channels. For now, let’s listen to Flex<br \/>Bus 1 on the VM-7000 itself to hear what’s going to the<br \/>ASSIGNABLE OUT 4 jack. You can also use this technique to<br \/>create a basic mix when sending signals to a monitor-your<br \/>performers can then help you refine the mix by telling you what they<br \/>need to hear.<br \/>11. Press SOURCE SELECT. This screen lets you choose what will<br \/>be heard in the VM-7000’s own monitor feed.<br \/>12. Turn V1 [SELECT] to choose FBUS 1-you’re now listening to<br \/>Flex Bus 1 itself, though there’s nothing to be heard there yet.<br \/>13. Press F6 [EXIT] to return to the FBus Send 1 screen.<br \/>14. Use the first two faders to set the amount of signal sent from Input<br \/>Channels 1 and 2 to Flex Bus 1, and therefore to ASSIGNABLE<br \/>OUT 4.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"template":"","categories":[],"tags":[],"storecat":[],"itemids":[32511,32512,32514],"manufacturers":[33684],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v17.9 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<meta name=\"description\" content=\"Check out the Routing Signals to an External Flex Bus page at Sweetwater \u2014 the world's leading music technology and instrument retailer!\" \/>\n<meta name=\"robots\" content=\"index, follow, max-snippet:-1, max-image-preview:large, max-video-preview:-1\" \/>\n<link rel=\"canonical\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/articles\/routing-signals-external-flex-bus\/\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:locale\" content=\"en_US\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:type\" content=\"article\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:title\" content=\"Routing Signals to an External Flex Bus - SweetCare\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:description\" content=\"basic steps: route the Flex Bus to the desired output, and send thesignals to the Flex Bus.
