Creating a custom Mac OS X bootable CD with SCSI drivers
– requires copy of Toast Deluxe 3.5.x -5.x – and a CD Recorder
– a Macintosh running 8.1 – 9.x
– a copy of Mac OS X 10.0.x (Mac OS X 10.1 already includes and installs our beta drivers)<\/p>\n
Creating a custom Mac OS X bootable CD with SCSI drivers cont.
1) Insert a Mac OS X CD in your Mac
2) Launch Toast and select either SCSI Copy, Disc Copy or Copy
3) Select the “Mac OS X Install CD” as your source
4) Go up to the “File” menu and pull down to “Save As Disc Image”
5) Once the disc image is saved completely go to step #6
6) Locate the disc image you saved and Double-click on it
7) In the Main Toast window click “Mount”
8) Double-click on “Mac OS X Install CD” icon that mounted on the desktop
9) You will then be at the real root of the CD
10) Click on the maximize widget
11) In the resized window double-click on the “System” folder
Note: On the Mac OS X Server 10.0.x CD the “System” folder is hidden, users can temporarily make this folder visible using third party applications. A number of customers have reported not having any success creating an OS X Server CD with our drivers. The key is to make the folder invisible again before continuing.
12) In the next window double-click on the “Library” folder
13) In the next window double-click on the “Extension” folder (this isn’t the old extensions) these are the Kernel Extension (KEXT)
14) In the “Extension” folder move the “Adaptec78XXSCSI.kext” out of the current location if you don’t have a OEM 2940U2B . You may want to save a copy, but it should be moved out of the System folder
15) Copy the 290X_2930.kext, 29160x.kext, 39160.kext into the Extensions folder
16) Close all the windows
17) Double-click on “Mac OS X Install CD”
18) While holding down the “Option” key double-click on “Welcome to Mac OS X” folder
19) Double-click on “Install Mac OS X” application.
20) Go up to the “File” menu and pull down to “Quit”
21) Bring Toast back to the front and select “Mac Volume” as the format..
22) Select the “Mac OS X Install CD” temporary partition as the source, and uncheck all options.
23) Click “Done” or “OK” and the write the CD You now have a bootable CD that will see all of our current SCSI cards and that you can install from onto any HD connect to our SCSI card.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"template":"","categories":[],"tags":[],"storecat":[],"itemids":[31693],"manufacturers":[33158],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\t\n
