{"id":13806,"date":"2002-02-22T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2002-02-22T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/?p=13806"},"modified":"2007-04-27T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2007-04-27T00:00:00","slug":"back-up-data-cdr-disc-burner-built-cdr-recorder","status":"publish","type":"articles","link":"https:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/sweetcare\/articles\/back-up-data-cdr-disc-burner-built-cdr-recorder\/","title":{"rendered":"How do I back up Data to CDR with Disc Burner with the built in CDR recorder on the Mac?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>1.Quit all Programs that are running.<\/p>\n<p>2.Insert a BLANK CDR into the CD tray on the Mac.You will get a message that says: <br \/>  &#8220;This disc needs to be prepared for burning,Do want to Prepare this Disc?&#8221;<br \/>  Name the CD as needed , make sure the &#8220;Format&#8221;  is set to &#8220;Standard HFS+ \/ISO 9660&#8221; Name the CD and then press the &#8220;Prepare&#8221; button.<\/p>\n<p>3.The new CD Icon will now appear on the desktop with the name you gave it!<\/p>\n<p>4.Now you can Drag and Drop Mac Files and Folders onto the CD Icon on your Desktop! You can add as much as you like, but cant exceed the capacity size of the CDR Media.<\/p>\n<p>5.When you are done adding the items you want to burn, make sure the CD Icon is highlighted (you can click on it just once to highlight it).<\/p>\n<p>6.Go under  &#8220;Special&#8221;  in the Apple Menu and you will see &#8220;Burn CD-R&#8221;. Choose this and you will get the &#8220;Are you sure you want to burn the Disc <br \/>&#8220;name you gave disc&#8221; . Press the &#8220;Burn&#8221; button!<\/p>\n<p>7.The Mac will now start to burn the CD! It may tale several minutes depending on the size of the Data you are burning.When the CD is done , the tray will open and you can take out your new CD.<\/p>\n<p>8.Also you can NOT add to a Disk burned with Disc Burner!
