Check the software version of your VS.  Press and hold the Track Status and Track Select buttons on Channel #1 while powering the unit on.   The full software version should appear on the screen.  The latest software version of your VS is (SEE BELOW) and can be downloaded at<br \/>http:\/\/www.rolandus.com\/SUPPORT\/SOFTWARE\/UPDATES2.HTM<br \/>   This is the most common cause of VS units NOT seeing the CDRs<\/p>\n<p>VS840 = 1.02<br \/>VS840EX = 2.05<br \/>VS840GX = 2.52<br \/>VS880 = 3.204<br \/>VS880EX = 2.013<br \/>VS890 = 1.013<br \/>VSR880 = 1.031<br \/>VS1680 = 2.023<br \/>VS1880 = 1.014<br \/>VS2480 = 1.231<\/p>\n<p>2. Make sure termination is ON.  VSCDR and VSCDR2 have termination switches, that should be ON.  The CDRack has a terminator which should be attached to the SCSI port (see CDRack manual for diagrams.<\/p>\n<p>3. Try switching the SCSI ID of the CDR *(You should power all items off, change the ID, then reboot)<\/p>\n<p>4.
