What is a Control Latch Test error in DigiTest?

On the Mix cards, the Control Latch test checks primarily the peripheral I/O control section of the card. It also checks the clock signals pertaining to both primary and secondary peripherals. For instance when it reports getting “00” when expecting “02” it indicates that a control or clock signal is probably the culprit. Primary causes of the Control Latch failure on Mix cards would be a problem with either the peripheral cable (possibly the Y-cable), a defective Digishift ASIC, I/O Control ASIC, or 26C31 CBit Xmitter.
