How can I use my audioboxusb in Vista32 with Cubase or Sonar

1. Go into Device Manager (you can just type Device Manager in the search box in the start menu and hit return)

2. Expand the “Sound, video and game controllers” branch

3. Right-click on the AudioBox USB line and select disable (Vista may ask you to reboot – if it does, go ahead and do so)

4. Launch Cubase/Sonar

5. Go into Device Settings/Options Audio

6. Click on VST Audio System/Options Audio Advanced

7. In the driver drop-down on the right half of the window, select anything EXCEPT “ASIO DirectX Full-Duplex…” (I had the choice to select my “on board Sound card,” for instance)

8. Click “Apply” and then “OK”

9. Go back into Vista’s Device Manager

10. Right-click on the AudioBox USB line and select “Enable”

11. Go back to Cubase/Sonar and select ASIO Presonus USB in the driver list under Device Setup, click “Apply” and “OK”

12.Done!

* You must make sure that you are actually using the Presonus driver for the “AudioBox USB” device in Vista Device Manager (right click it and select properties, then click on “Driver” tab). PreSonus Audio Electronics, Date is 10/3/2007, and Version is 1.0.7.0

If your driver provider is Microsoft, click the “Update Driver” button, click on “Browse my computer for driver software”, then click “Let me pick from list of device drivers on my computer”. The window that comes up next should show two options, one for the already installed MS driver, and another that reads AudioBox USB. Click on the AudioBox USB line, and click next. If Vista complains about the driver not being signed, install it anyway.
