Class D Klark Teknik power amplifier provides high output and low weight

A decade ago, if you've have told anyone here at Sweetwater that we'd someday carry a 3,000-watt, 15" powered subwoofer weighing under 70 lbs., we probably would have laughed out loud. But here it is, the Turbosound iQ15B, and it's an amazing way to beef up your live sound rig. Add to that the fact that the iQ15B is under 2' in any dimension and that it's got integrated castors on back (so it still sits flat) and you've got yourself one truly portable workhorse sub.

Ultranet technology makes advanced integration with the rest of your gear easy

Now let's focus on the technological side of the Turbosound iQ15B. The iQ15B features Ultranet communications connectivity via standard Cat 5 ethernet cable, which allows you to send digital signal to and from your Ultranet equipped mixer for maximum sound quality. If you're already familiar with Ultranet, then you already know how powerful and easy to use it is. If not, call your Sweetwater Sales Engineer for a full explanation. On top of that, the iQ15B includes Klark Teknik digital signal processing, which provides total control over your sound, including extremely cool speaker emulation.

Flexible enough for live sound professionals, Durable enough for life on the road

Urtranet connectivity isn't the only thing that makes the Turbosound iQ15B an extremely flexible live sound tool. A full-featured LCD interface and USB connectivity for software-based configuration make that aspect of the iQ15B totally easy to use. On an even more practical side, you get things like an integrated 36mm (1.417") pole mount and Neutrik powerCON connectors to make configuring your iQ15B powered subwoofer with other gear a breeze. Top it off with a rugged powder coated grille and sealed birch plywood enclosure, and you can take your iQ15B on the road, worry free.

great sub at a great price

Very very tight is the best way to describe it. In a 'boomie' room this box runs flat all the way to roll off when crossed over at 66hz. You can run the crossover higher depending on what you want, but watch the harmonics as it tends to 'push' instead of 'punch' if you try to go too high with it. Result is much better than expected with near zero tuning. Impressive. Also, the 3kw makes it sound like the amp simply has hold of the driver and won't let it go. Delightful. Full system is pairs of Milan 12 plus Milan 10 plus a pair of these IQ15b's summed mono. Loud, clear, accurate, and an easy, smooth listen. You don't hear the PA, only the sound, as it should be. Live analysis shows unusually flat, with the expected well mannered taper off above 8k..Happy customer, under-represented brand - had to order them sight unseen as nobody in Seattle had them (why not??). Well worth the risk. Compared to all the other brands I checked out for this little 'home' system - these are the only ones that didn't tear your ears off. Yamaha, JBL, Mackie, Bose, all of them can be hard to listen to. I would recommend Turbosound for anyone who is looking for high quality accuracy at a reasonable price point. Just because they are Music-Group, they are NOT Behringers, not by a longshot.

I have to admit that I wasn't expecting much from these, because of their price and size. However, now after using them a few times, I am simply blown away. These give our classic rock band the low-end punch that I have been desperately looking for. Instead of having to turn the low end up to be heard, we now seem to have to turn it down a bit. Incredible power, sound, price, size, and weight. These are seriously hard to beat.

Exactly what I needed

I purchased an iQ15B and iQ12 to use as a monitor for my electronic drum set on stage. I'd been using a 15/horn powered speaker, but it just couldn't compete with the guitar and bass, much less give the kick drum the thump we all love so much. These Turbosound speakers exceeded every expectation both I and the band had. Used them at a show last night and WOW. The kick drum just thumped, but wasn't boomy. The other drums and cymbals cut through the mix like butter. Crystal clear, deep tone from crash to kick. I could not be more pleased with this set up. The fact that the iQ15b is so light (relatively speaking) only makes it better! My Sweetwater rep went far, far above and beyond to help me decide what speakers to buy and he nailed it! Sweetwater gave me a nice deal on this system, but their customer service is priceless.

everything I wanted

Our first gig with these was outside in a park. The FOH was only 2 of these and 2 iq12 tops. The bass drum thump and bass guitar were so tight and clear. There was no distortion and no popping. I was worried that the subs wouldn't keep up outside, but they exceeded my expectations. We play progressive metal, so all the bass tones are pretty tight. I have no idea how these would be with something really bassy like hip hop, but for our music, they were epic.
