Apple iPad Pro at a Glance:
  • Apple's most powerful chip for their most capable iPad
  • Huge performance in a slim design
  • Four-speaker sound system for a rich listening experience
  • Touch ID fingerprint security
  • Two cameras to capture any moment
Apple's most powerful chip for their most capable iPad

The uncompromising performance of iPad Pro is driven by some equally uncompromising technology. The A9X, Apple's third-generation chip with 64-bit desktop-class architecture, gives iPad Pro the power to easily take on tasks that were once reserved for workstations and PCs.

Huge performance in a slim design

Even with its massive display, the Apple iPad Pro has an astonishingly slim and light design - just 6.9mm thin and 1.57 pounds. Yet thanks to the strong unibody enclosure, it feels well balanced and sturdy. For all its capabilities, the most surprising thing about iPad Pro may be how easily it seems to disappear in the hand.

Four-speaker sound system for a rich listening experience

With four high-fidelity speakers built directly into its unibody, iPad Pro creates an audio experience as big as its display. The new design produces an engaging soundstage with three times the acoustic output of iPad Air. But it goes even further than that. The iPad Pro automatically adjusts the orientation of the high frequencies according to how you're holding it. So whether you're playing a game or watching a movie, the sound of iPad Pro is more immersive than ever.

Touch ID fingerprint security

Apple's iPad Pro uses Touch ID technology to turn your fingerprint into an unforgettable password. So you can unlock your device with just a touch and keep your personal data safe, even if you share your iPad with someone else. Touch ID also lets you make secure purchases in iTunes, iBooks, and the App Store. And with Apple Pay, you can make purchases within your favorite apps, easily and securely.

Two cameras to capture any moment

The iSight camera on iPad Pro has an advanced sensor that lets you shoot beautiful images and video. The Apple-designed image signal processor gives you excellent results, whether you're taking a panorama or using burst or timer modes. You can also shoot time-lapse and slow-motion video in 720p HD. And with a larger viewfinder, you'll see more detail than ever before. The front-facing FaceTime HD camera also has an improved sensor, which, along with the larger display, makes video calls feel more lifelike. Even in low-light or backlit settings, your pictures and videos will look great.

Apple iPad Pro Features:
  • A9X chip with 64-bit architecture and M9 motion coprocessor provides more than enough power for generations of iOS apps to come
  • 12.9" Retina display for ultra-smooth graphics, vivid text, and rich video performance
  • Dual Wi-Fi antennas and Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity deliver stunning wireless performance
  • Access to nearly a half million apps at the Apple App Store
  • iSight and FaceTime HD cameras provide extensive onboard video capabilities
  • Touch ID technology gives you an unprecedented level of security
  • Built-in 38.5-watt-hour rechargeable lithium-polymer battery provides up to 10 hours of continuous operation
Sweetwater can confirm the Apple iPad Pro is the most capable iPad yet!

My first iPad

My entire computer life (since the abacus), I've been a PC guy. Nothing has changed from owning this iPad Pro. However I really do like it. It's hard to remain unbiased and I do think I approach it with an open mind but it's hard not to miss the things I could do if it weren't mac. As a musician however most of the programs I own only have iPad sister programs, such as remote software apps.Pros:It's huge screen is great, and one of the main reasons I chose it over it's smaller Pro version.Sound is incredible. Better than anything I have used in a phone or tablet.Setup was both a pro and a con. Pro wise, it went smooth. Con wise, I had to do it twice which shows lack of thinking in it's IOS.Cons:After I set it up and it boot to the normal screen, it said an update was available. After updating it I had to set it all up again. It basically forgot everything I just told it and to me made me think a twelve year old did the QA on it.Battery life is greatly exaggerated. Apple totes this as having a battery life of 10 hours. Try 2.5 with what I would say will be average use. I went from 100% to 21% in just over 2 hours. Screen brightness maxed and running at least 2 apps at all times.Weight sounded amazing to me at just over 1.5 lbs. My lightest tool bag that I carry around daily is 40 lbs yet this 1.5'ish pound tablet seems much heavier. I feel like a girly man, haha. It's fine, it just feels much heavier than what it's said to be.No pencil. For me finding this out made me nearly cancel the order. For over a grand not having a pencil/stylus made me feel robbed in broad daylight. I still don't like it but for now, had to try it.No pencil holder. So you buy Apple's $100 pencil and see zero thought went into it being attached in any way to the iPad Pro. If you're a manufacturer I highly recommend creating a case for this that has a pencil holder since after days of searching not one exists. For a pencil that costs $100 and an iPad that cost as much as this I don't think this was thought through either.Seeing how limited IOS is in terms of customization is the real shocker and one I won't get used to being a PC/Android user for so long. No screen recorder apps for this unless you want to "Jailbreak" it. No way to remove 80% of the icons/apps it comes with and no addon UI meaning it stays as it is with your only option to change the background picture.Being fair and knowing I've been spoiled for years with a much better platform I give this 4 stars none the less. I am pleased with the apps I needed this for enough to forgive it's lack of customization but I will certainly only use it for what I must and hope studio software developers stop being biased in thinking Mac is still the leader in media. I have 13 computer certifications and 2 licenses having built and repaired all types for decades. Mac was the leader only during the time they owned Macromedia. Since they sold that ages ago to Adobe that has no longer been the case and every time a software engineer ignores the other platforms it's like that sub shop you go into to see they only sell one type of soft drink. Meaningless in today's era.
