    Great for the price point

The audio on mine is clean. I'm not sure why other reviewers have had problems. I bought this as an easy way to do field recordings with multiple channels and it does that very well. It works as a mixer independently as well which is kind of cool. One bonus is that it worked with my iPhone 6 as well as my iPad 2. Sure, it didn't have any way to secure the phone, but it worked. (My old 1st gen alesis io dock didn't work with an iphone, just an ipad).

My only complaint is the build quality it a little flimsy. It hasn't broken yet but I'll be transporting it in a hard case just to be safe. I don't think it will survive much abuse.

    Decent mixer

I am a broadcaster and use this at remotes with a codec app to send a feed back to the radio station. I like the fact the lighting connector is on a wire, rather than just poking out of the mixer. Still, it is an angled adapter, which can also be used for a 30 pin ipad. It will not fit into an iPad hard case, so an extension cable with a straight lighting connector is necessary to fit in there. Yes, it will hold an iPad without a case, but the clamp that holds the iPad is not very sturdy and I worry about the iPad falling out. Also, there seems to be a "right side up" way to connect the lighting connector. One way gives a lot of buzz, but the other way doesn't. Still, I bought another iPad mixer last year which is virtually useless. It is a different brand, and refuses to send any sort of clean audio. I am happy with this one, as we've figured out the Alesis and it does a good job. I only wish the headphone connector was on the back, next to the inputs. Doesn't work so well for a headset, but seperate phones and mic should be fine. So far this mixer has been lugged around Texas to cover 30+ play-by-play broadcasts and is still going strong.

    Why? with no midi?

Kind of pointless without any midi support and there is nothing allowing
you to connect to a different device to do so.
It would have been a great idea with at least a usb/midi connection.
