    Almost Perfect

This is a very slick device. My only complaint....and it is not enough to make me want to give a lower rating...is the inconvenient location of the gain controls. Wish they were not tucked in the back of the dock.

    Top Rated Interface for iPad

A great system, easy to use, solid construction and interfaces with iPads thought the air sits loose, but still firm place to keep your iPad. The angle is perfect for me to clearly see the screen. The interface holds securely and I have not had issues with it coming loose. I use AKG K240 headset, Artuia Keyboard, guitar(s), and a electric Viola, that connects through one of the combo ports in the back. I do use a Radial DI box. All perform well. I am testing Cubasis but used Garageband with no issues. The only negative is that the USB interface is just a MIDI I/O. It would be nice to direct connect USB MIDI devices and not just run through you computer. To me this is not a major drawback but might be for some. Alesis, just upgrade the Firmware :-)

    Alesis iO Dock

So far I'm only using it as a MIDI interface to play various synth and organ apps. I'm sure I'll get around to recording with it before long (got a big deadline at work for now). The sound I've gotten out of this dock is stunning, and competes with the other keyboards in my studio. The only complaint so far is the unit needs some kind of eject button. So far I have to pick it up and dump the iPad out and catch it, as there is no way to grab it to slide it out. Otherwise I'm totally in love with it.

    The Best Ipad Musical Interface

I have been experimenting with various musical interfaces for my Ipad and I have tried I-Rig and Focusrite. The Asesis iO Dock II is by far the best I have used, giving the widest range of inputs and the best monitoring of recording while in use. If you are thinking about an interface for your Ipad, this in the one to get.

    Great. But...

Alexis needs to make this versatile device compatible with current generation iPads. There ought to be a retro-fit sled made available for iPad Air and Air 2, even though some users have come up with creative ways to make their device fit. A sled to fit the iPad Pro would make this handy and versatile dock a tool that would hold its relevancy for years to come, and could prove to be a major selling point for Alesis.

    Does the job so far

The dock fits the bill as far as providing line-in and MIDI connections to my new iPad Air 2. Now if Alesis would just make a sleeve that would make for a better fit for my iPad. They apparently make one for other smaller iPads but not the Air 2.
I have definitely been enjoying a lot of the (relatively) low cost apps and using audiobus as a connector for them all has been great. I still have not tried a stereo line or microphone in to the dock.

    Not bad

This has its ups and down 1 the iPad air 2 does not fit in the slide to will it moves around a lot . But u can use your Smart Cover to make it fit right. Did not like all the knobs in the back . I think it could have been made better. The one I had a noise in the recording it could have just a bad box. But for people who want to do some recording at a small price this would be good
