This little mixer is totally AMAZING !!! I am using it with an AT-AE5400 mike going into a Bose L1 compact and I must say that the built in effects are WONDERFUL and I am getting STUDIO QUALITY SOUND !!! The size is so convenient as it fits snugly on a small space on my guitar amp. I would say it is PERFECT for a solo performer like myself as it has all one would need with a SMALL FOOTPRINT!!! YOU JUST CANNOT GO WRONG WITH THIS TOP QUALITY UNIT!!!! A TOTAL WINNER!!!!

Great personal mixer

Had a Yamaha MG06X for ab 15 days and replaced it with the ZED-6FX. Larger footprint, but worth the upgrade. I love the transparency, pan feature and solid build. Works perfect for my home studio.

Great Value

I was in need of a small mixer for my solo shows. Mic, acoustic guitar, and keyboard...I needed at least separate 4 ch, FX, XLR outs, and NO WALL WART! I sacrificed not having a mid control and seperate aux send for the fact that this thing was only $180. I must say it is worth every penny! All the pots and the fader feel solid enough, the FX are good quailty, and it is quiet! Which is something that mixers in this price range seldom achieve. I do run a small spot monitor out of the headphone out that serves as a monitor and helps me to set levels when i have to put my main speakers out away from me in some of the restaurants i play.Allen and Heath really hit it out of the park with this one!

Great little mixer ! Very nice effects and warm preamps, very light weight but sturdy build quality. It also has an internal power supply!! The only reason I give it a 4.5 is the eq works great but kinda limited. But overall, it's a great mixer for my application. I had purchased another brand that didn't work out and Sweetwater exchanged it very promptly. Thanks Sweetwater and Bob Mondok

Excellent Little Mixer

This isn't the most exciting piece of gear to spend nearly $200 on. However, I'm glad I spent the extra cash on this A&H instead of the other options in this category. I've used quite a few entry level and mid-range mixers in my day... Boss, Behringer, Mackie/Tapco, Ahsly, etc. and I can say with confidence this little mixer sounds very good. Its main duty is a sub-mixer to add extra channels to my RME Fireface 400 audio interface, as I have a few extra synthesizers/drum machines that I don't want to keep plugging in when I want to use them. I also needed a decent compact mixer for portability when I want to jam at a buddy's house or play a small gig. The synths sound very good through this unit. Clean, bold and detailed as if they were plugged in directly to my interface. Doesn't seem to color the sound at all as far as I can tell. That's a good thing for my purposes. The mic preamps sound about on par with the ones in my RME. Not a Neve or a Focusrite Red, but certainly above average and very clean, same as the line level inputs. It has quite a few useful features. No wall wart! The built in power supply is great (hopefully it'll last). I like the gain knobs for the stereo channels. This allows me to boost the input to a better level when using my old DR-202 drum machine that has sort of weak outputs. The headphone monitoring switch is also useful for live situations.I decided to splurge for this unit with built in effects because I thought they might be useful in a pinch. WOW! I was very surprised with the overall quality of them. The "tap tempo" feature really makes the delays much more useful and there's a bit of adjustment you can make to each effect using the "parameter" function. I thought the effects would be an afterthought as they are with most of these little mixers. I'm so impressed with them I may end up using them on some recordings and definitely wouldn't be shy about using them in a live setting. The Waldorf Rocket synth sounds really good with these effects, which is helpful for being out of the house because it only has an overdrive circuit built in. I usually run most of my synths through an Eventide Eclipse at home. The build quality seems good and above average, although the only thing I don't like about it is the bulkiness of it. It's got this weird sort of outer shell around it which seems to take up more space than necessary. I suppose it's there as a sort of shock absorber or bumper in case it's banged around or dropped.Overall I'm quite pleased with this purchase and I look forward to using it in the years to come. Thanks to Mark Thompson, my sales rep for showing me around Sweetwater when I stopped in to pick it up. He took quite a bit of time out of his day to show me around their amazing facility. In fact, surprisingly, my lady partner said it was one of her favorite parts of our little vacation to lake Michigan.
