Clear, Reliable Sound in an XS System

In-ear monitors are imperative to any situation that requires live audio, whether it’s public speaking, theater, or live music. Though there are many options to choose from, Sennheiser saves you the guess work and hassle with their XSW wireless in-ear system. This set has everything you need right out of the box: an XSW IEM transmitter, one XSW IEM Bodypack receiver, one set of IE 4 in-ear headphones, an XSW rackmounting kit, and an NT 12-5CW power supply (with power adapters). Sennheiser developed the XS Wireless system to deliver professional-quality audio in a streamlined, user-friendly package, elevating your sound regardless of your technical expertise. Level up your live sound and grab an XSW IEM Wireless system from Sweetwater today!

Transmitting on your frequencies

This Sennheiser system includes the XSW IEM SR Stereo Transmitter, designed with rugged metal housing that can be easily integrated into a rack-mounted system or by itself. A crystal-clear backlit menu makes setup easy and accessible under any number of lighting conditions. Two XLR combo-inputs on the back side make for versatile cabling options, while the front output offers quick access for previewing your mix. This UHF transmitter operates with a switching bandwidth up to 24MHz, alongside eight frequency banks that have 12 precalculated channels in each one. Use the front menu to effortlessly refine your audio settings, including gain, mono/stereo options, input sensitivity, syncing, and more. To add even more flexibility, the included NT 12-5CW power supply includes a country adapter.

Out of sight, but never out of sound

On the other end, you need a receiver that can move at the pace of this transmitter, and the XSW EK Bodybpack receiver is up to the task. The EK IEM XS receiver includes Sennheiser’s IE 4 in-ear headphones, and two AA batteries, good for upward of six hours of uncompromising sound. LED indicators for battery and link status accompany an easy-to-navigate backlit front screen, whose menu allows you to access settings such as focus modes and volume control, as well as onboard limiter and EQ. An additional pan control lets you individually balanced the input channels. A standard 3.5mm jack plug functions perfectly for the included IE 4 headphones, or an in-ear set of your choice.

Everything you need. Nothing you don't
As a guy that's resisted IEMs for years, it's become apparent that it's beyond time to go this route because my hearing is taking a serious beating. I tried a cheap Audio 2000s set from Amazon that sounded reasonably good, but it was plagued with interference at a gig once and I realized I couldn't have that. Sold it. Bought a xVive kit which is actually pretty good. Especially for the price. I love the small receiver and simplicity of how it works. Couple drawbacks. Especially for me. My hearing is damaged in my left ear from "meniere's disease" and some treatment I should have never agreed to. It's cost me a significant amount of upper register hearing loss in my left ear. This also comes with some weird pitch discrepancies. Mono signals drive me crazy because it's more obvious since the sound is identical, but my brain isn't interpreting it that way. The xVive is mono, and that is a major issue for me because of that. Stereo signals are a little bit less distracting, so I had to go back to something capable of doing that. Not going the cheap route again though. Been there. Wanted to avoid Galaxy Audio kind of stuff (it could be great, but I don't know) and go with tried and true brands. Found this to be midway on price, and if you compare features, there's little difference between this and the much more expensive G4 setup. Most of the advanced features of the G4, your average guy like me will never miss, so why spend the extra scratch? Now, onto the unit itself. First impressions are good. Well built, solid feeling chassis. I built half rack box to hold this critter and my little TC BH250 amp head as well as the receiver bodyback and make it to where all cables stay connected, so I had it for about 4 days before even powering it up! Wow, what a nice display. I connected a music player to it, and it was ready to go out of the box as soon as I powered up the bodypack. Sounds good. Then I heard dropouts. What? I switched channels, but they remained. I was about to box this back up and send it back, then I realized..."duh...I didn't put the antenna on!!" Well, let's just say that made all the difference. Usually those little antennas are more for looks than anything if you ask me. but not here. I walked about 200 foot before it dropped out. That is way, way further than I'll ever need to go. Some people say they get "latency" that far away, but no...it's that they're too far away, and the sound is actually delayed getting to their ears! As said, sound is very, very good. Way better than the Audio 2000's unit I had and a big improvement over the xVive. Not a total loss for the xVive. It'll be our emergency spare since we're leaving the monitor wedges home now. Bodypack display is easy to navigate, and setting the transmitter you can learn without the manual in just a few minutes, although I highly recommend you spend some time with it. I'd recommend finding an old cell phone pouch to put the receiver in to protect it. While it appears pretty durable, I'm not completely confident I can't break it. Expensive mistake. Overall, it's pretty hard to screw up with this. Basic and easy menus and does what it's supposed to do without too much froo froo. I appreciate that actually. Visual cues on both the transmitter and receiver show what's happening audio and RF wise.

So, why the half star? Couple small things. The buttons should be backlit for dark stages. Minor gripe. The included earbuds? Do they sound good? Yeah, they do, but they aren't going to last. The wires are thinner than angel hair pasta, and a clumsy dude like me will kill them. Now, that being said, I have some KZs that I like that I will use. These are simply for backup. HOWEVER, as subjective as taste is to actual IEM headsets, I wish they didn't even bother to include them. They should offer this setup with a high quality pair at additional charge, or offer it without any whatsoever. But whatever. They're good spares.

All in all? Highly recommended so far. We'll see how they do at the gig.

Fantastic system for the price
The sound quality of this unit is superb. The included ear buds sound ok, but I'm using the KZ ZS10 Pro IEMs and when A/B testing them direct to mixer vs through this wireless there is really no discernible difference in sound with the band mix.

I really appreciate the EQ feature, keeping it off helps to tame cymbal crash without sacrificing my electric guitar tone. We have one 'unplugged' type song in the set and I'll flip the EQ on when I play the acoustic for that extra sparkle as there are no cymbals to compete with. It's great to have the EQ and listening mode right on the body pack.

If you are looking for a great wireless IEM solution without breaking the bank, this is it. The singer has a budget system that was more than half the cost of this system and it is a night and day difference in audio quality, and he has zero audio options, soundstage mode choices or a limiter. Trust me, don't waste your time and money on the $300 entry level units.

Great system for the PRICE
I was amazed at the sound quality

Outstanding!
You get what you pay for. I'm fairly new into IEMS, as my hearing is not good, and I am trying to preserve as much of it as I can so I can keep playing for the foreseeable future. The first set I got was "Audio's 2000"...whatever that means. Worked ok, but on a gig we played with a bunch of nearby bluetooth fake rock speakers, they just dropped out. Nothing I could do made them work. Dealbreaker. Then I went to xVive. They are almost there with these thing. Good audio, charge quick, but way too susceptible to interference. Range isn't quite as good as it should be. Also, mono only. I prefer stereo aux. Frustrated I looked at this unit. You're getting the same basic thing as the higher end Sennheiser stuff, but without the advanced feature that weekend guys like me don't really need. Sound quality is excellent. Range is excellent, and you have a simple interface that you can figure out even without the manual. Only minor gripe is that while the included buds sound pretty good, they are really just cheap earbuds. I DETEST earbuds because they always fall out. If you use this with an inexpensive set, you will get good fitting IEMS that sound incredible, for a very fair price. To my bad ears they are as good as anything else marketed to musicians, still have field replaceable cables. I kept the stock ones as backups for those idiots that forgot their buds.

Is this a cheap option? Hardly, but worth every penny. I wish my regular world sounded as good as this unit. In the world of IEM, you absolutely get what you pay for. You want mediocre performance? Get a cheap set up. Don't complain about it. If you want solid reliability and sound? These are what you want.

Fantastic
Did my research on an IEM setup and went with the XSW. So far it has all been fantastic, equipment arrived in tip top condition and the set up is pretty straight forward.

Would give it the full 5 stars but haven't used it in a live situation as yet
