Very impressive speaker!

By John McCool from West Fork, AR on February 23, 2018 Music Background: Church Audio Eng

I ordered 2 of these for our small church. The sound is very impressive. I've compared to the Mackie Thump 12" and the EV ZLX-12P. There is no comparison, this Samson XP112A blows them both away. They have a very nice clean sound and also hard hitting lows. With the mixer faders set at 0 and the speakers themselves set at 40% power, I'm getting 90 dba in the church from music played with my laptop.

Super sound! Super price!

Bought this as a keyboard amp/monitor. Just tested it out, and it's amazing!!! Sound is better than any keyboard amp I've ever owned. Plenty loud!! It's also lighter than any amp I've ever had. For the price there's NOTHING that competes with it.

Great!

I bought this because feature for price ratio was good. I use it as a keyboard monitor. compares well to speakers costing much more. Has plenty of power . Also light weight. Clean high quality sound.

Good Speaker

I got this speaker to replace my blown TH12s. I like it has a lot of power and a built in fan. Feels sturdy I am looking forward to cranking it as a live stage monitor.

Good deal, good sound

Got it to replace a blown floor wedge. It's very clear and certainly more than loud enough; even though we get plenty loud onstage, the monitor mix sounds the way it should. And the plastic shell takes a beating, while the unit is relatively light which makes moving it around easy. In fact, the volume control on the back of the unit rarely needs to go any higher than 3-4.

My only problem is the noise floor. Each preamp or power amp in a chain adds to the background noise, and since our monitor mix comes from the main board to a powered mixer then to the speakers, this speaker with its own amp has a little more background 'sizzle' than the other monitors. Not a fault of the product.... just be aware that you may encounter a similar situation depending on your configuration. Oh, and if you do replace a passive speaker with this be sure to take a line out to it and not a speaker out.
