Good beginning interface, good simple mixer
This was the first interface I ever bought, and as such it fulfilled all my desires. It provides enough phantom power to make my MXL 990 condenser mic work, and the Xenyx preamp doesn't seem too noisy; however; when I listen through my headphones, even without a mic plugged in there is a little bit of hiss.
I liked this enough that I recommended it to the California State 4-H Technology Leadership Team, which purchased one to use for routing audio from PA systems into livestreams at conferences. It's worked well for this purpose.
I have since upgraded to a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 interface, but I still use this as a mixer for my internet radio show, and as an interface for the microphone I use while playing video games.
BOTTOM LINE: It's a solid beginner's interface and handy mixer for small or home applications. Minus one star for the headphone hiss, but that's the ONLY con so far, no hiss in recordings that I could tell.
