Top performance from AKG's HT420 handheld transmitter

When you take the stage with AKG's HT420 handheld transmitter, you'll be confident and sound great. That's because AKG poured their 70+ years of audio experience into the design. The HT420 is fitted with AKG's acclaimed D5 dynamic capsule, which is engineered with a supercardioid polar pattern that ensures maximum gain before feedback, for a crisp, full-bodied sound that cuts through the mix. For the D5, AKG employed the first microphone diaphragm with a thickness that varies across its diameter. Their proprietary Laminated Varimotion diaphragm deep-drawing process allows the diaphragm itself to be fine-tuned with no extra tuning resonators - a quantum leap in audio performance.

Flexible, economical battery options

The WMS420 wireless system consists of the SR420 stationary receiver and the HT420 handheld transmitter. The transmitter is equipped with charging contacts that let you conveniently charge your rechargeable batteries without removing them. The rechargeable option also gives you the potential of considerable cost savings over time - a big plus for installations. And speaking of batteries, the HT420 gives you an outstanding eight hours of operation from a single AA, which reduces your operating costs in day-to-day use.

Optimized for superior performance and flexibility

The WMS420 wireless system includes AKG's R420 stationary receiver, which features detachable antennas. Sweetwater's FOH engineers appreciate thoughtful professional features and we like this one because it allows the use of pro-level accessories such as antenna splitters and remote-mounted directional antennas for multichannel systems. Further, the system uses diversity antennas (with the receiver antenna being frequency-range-optimized) for superior performance in congested multipath situations. Whether you need a simple, single-channel setup or a complex multichannel system, the WMS420 makes a great starting point. With up to eight channels per band, the WMS420 lets you start out simply, and add to your system as your needs dictate.

WONDERFUL MIC

I had this mic plugged in, along side my old wireless set up, and the clarity of this unit BLEW my older set up away. I'm so pleased that I purchased this as per ALAN CARTER's recommendation.

Nice little wireless mike

We gave 2 of these a try since they were on a great special and have been pleasantly surprised at the sound quality. They don't seem to be made quite as well as AT or Shure mikes but for the price they are very good. Only complaint I heard from our sound guy was how hard it was to find the place on the mike to change the channel. No instructions with the mike or online gave him a clue on where to find it.

Great Value

I couldn't wait to receive this order. We needed to upgrade a couple of sure mics and this was the time to do it. Easy to set up had both installed and using in less then 5 minutes. They use 1 AA Battery and will go 5-6 services on that 1 battery. Thinkong about ordery2 more.

akg wms 420 wireless microphone

This microphone is great for vocals but the vocalist have to be right upon the microphone if they move away just a inch the volume is lost even when you give more preamp of overall I recommend this microphone for smaller venues

Great Mic / Not Durable

I got to say I love these wireless mics, they are easy to set up, they sound amazing and the cost you can't beat. The only issue I have with them is they are not durable at all, the mic heads keep falling off on me. I don't mean the wind screen I mean the whole head with the wind screen connected! This happened and the two wires they use, one of them broke rendering the mic useless. This was misuse but a poor design, the mics are great but up to this point two of them have broke on me so I will be sending the second broken mic in today.
