100% Analog Bass Grooves

Look at the Korg Volca Bass analog synthesizer like it's an ultra-affordable 303 bassline synth - except it's actually pretty easy to program! Whether you're producing EDM, hip-hop, or any type of electronic music really, the fat sound of true analog bass can't be denied. The Volca Bass gives you three oscillators to create huge bass sounds, and a 16-step sequencer to create your grooves. Best of all you've got MIDI and Sync I/O, making it easy to integrate the Korg Volca Bass with the rest of your gear.

Korg Volca Bass Analog Synthesizer at a Glance:

  • 303-style bass lines in an ultra-affordable synth

  • Ready for both live performance and studio production
  • Truly portable, and easy to integrate with other gear
303-style bass lines in an ultra-affordable compact synth

While there are as many genres of electronic music as there are stars in the sky, they've all been influenced at some point by the iconic 303 bassline synthesizer. Think drippy, squelchy, resonant bass and wild glides. You get the same fat analog vibe with the Volca Bass, but it's much easier to program than the notorious 303 (and costs a whole lot less too!).

Ready for both live performance and studio production

The compact Volca Bass is surprisingly versatile - connect a MIDI controller and play it live, arrange your own patterns and manipulate them on the fly, or connect it to an external sequencer. The sound is huge, punchy, and powerful, and you'll love the vibe it adds to your music.

Truly portable, and easy to integrate with other gear

With its compact size and optional AC or battery power, the Korg Volca Bass is truly a go-anywhere groove box. Best of all, it's got the right connections to interface with any of your gear. It's got a MIDI input so you can control it via any MIDI sequencer, and it even has Sync I/O so it can play in time with Korg's Monotribe and Monotron analog synthesizers. Or simply create whatever bass synth sounds you like, then sample them for sequencing elsewhere.

Korg Volca Bass Analog Synthesizer Features:

  • Portable 303-style analog bass synthesizer

  • Three analog oscillators self-tune for constant, stable pitch
  • Slide function lets you create classic acid-style basslines
  • Sync In/Out makes it easy to play in time with Monotribe or other Volca machines
  • Control via the onboard ribbon or via MIDI input
  • Save your own patterns for later recall
  • Can sync to MIDI Clock from your DAW or external sequencer
  • Operates on 6 x AA batteries or KA-350 power adapter (not included)
Big analog bass is yours with the Korg Volca Bass!

Great synth

This is a really good synth for the price.

First Analog Synth

For the price, there's just no competition out there anywhere. Tats and the Korg team really did great on this one, presenting us a powerful affordable analog in a 303's clothing. Great for when you're on the go, recording or performing. If you throw some chorus, delay, or reverb on this guy, it sounds like a million bucks. From the sound alone, there's no telling that you got it for $160.

Just a great bass synth/sequencer!

There's not much to say that hasn't already been said, but I have to add my 2 cents. The filter is amazing, and the ability to shape and modulate the sound adds a pleasing complexity to a simple 16 step pattern. I use this mostly for sweeping drones, and the occasional bassline, but have also sequenced it via MIDI with my BeatStep Pro to add more variation to my sequences. This little beast also has 3 oscillators that can work either together or independently - adding the ability to run up to 3 individual patterns simultaneously from a single box! The fact that this has no patch memory is a bit of a drag at times, but with its simplicity, it's not that difficult to reproduce the sounds that I've created. I also have the Keys and Sample, with the Beats on its way to complete the collection (so far). Although the other two are also impressive, I think this one in particular produces a great sound, and is very versatile - especially being the Volca with the least amount of knobs. It's also a great time killer at the kids' sports practices or just sitting in the living room during commercials. I'm confident in saying that the Volca Bass has earned a permanent home in my studio. If you are looking for a meaty bass synth/sequencer for not a lot of dollars, this is the one to get.

Best bang for the buck!

This synth sounds huge! I have the Keys as well, you cannot beat these for the price, and there isn't much comparable at any price, as the Volcas are so easy and intuitive to use.

Volca Bass incredible

By far not a 303 but it's bad, phat, and incredible! So simple to use and the sounds makes this bass a production tool that will be well sought after for years to come. I'm very impressed with this product at this price point. You really can't ask for more than what you get from the Volca Bass being this affordable. I can almost promise you if you purchase one you will not regret it.
