Hybrid analog/digital technology yields stunning tone

When Vox was designing the VT100X, they didn't just model the sound of guitar amplifiers, they employed VET (Virtual Elements Technology) to analyze each amp down to the component level. The result is a true-to-life reproduction of each model's characteristics. A Valvetronix preamp incorporates a multi-stage tube amplification circuit to provide you with the distinctive distortion, response, and tonal characteristics of a classic tube amplifier. The VT100X's power amp stage combines a unique analog circuit with a high-performance digital power amp to duplicate the tonal differences between Class A and AB, the effect of bias values on tone, and the changes in dynamic response of tubes.

High-performance DSP delivers next-level sound quality

Highly sophisticated DSP imbues the Vox VT100X with an enormous level of processing power. You'll hear the difference in the VT100X's sampling rate and sound of each of its 11 realistic amp models and in the quality of its 13 onboard effects.

Tone Room editor/librarian software for customizing amps and effects

The Vox VT100X's included Tone Room editor/librarian software puts an enormous amount of customizing power at your fingertips. You can tweak parameters to such a degree that it's almost like building your own instrument. When using Tone Room in conjunction with the VT100X, you gain access to a broad range of 20 realistic models of some of the most sought-after amplifiers around. Sixty preset programs, some modeled after the signature sounds of famous guitarists, unlock the full potential of the VT100X. Nearly everything is editable and storable, so once you craft the perfect tone, you can easily recall it later.

Fantastic Sound

This amp has a fantastic sound. The combo aspect I helps this fact over a normal digital amp. I was torn between the Peavey Vypyr Vip 3, the Marshall code 100, and this. I am extremely happy with my choice. The modeling aspect is actually quite impressive. Modeling has come a long way in the past few years.

12AX7 fine

You won't need another 12AX7 for many many years. It is not being driven hard but is being used as the model feedback.

Amazing amplifier for anything!

This is one hell of an amp. It has some of the best modeling technology united with tube goodness. It can be LOUD (still haven't tried the full volume but at halfway, it's mind-blowing, literally) and thank's to the 100W of power you can be loud when you want and quiet anytime thanks to the analog part of it and the tube feel. The presets are a sweet sweet treat to the ears and the best is that you can use the song preset, use your own programable sound and edit it some more if you want it. The possibilities are endless with this beast. Also, it's not heavy enough to die lifting or light enough to be moved from a push. AND finally, it is super easy to use. You can do just about anything on it.Two things tho, you must have the VFS5 for it. It really helps a lot and makes it even more fun to use with 8 channels of pure glory in two separate banks. The other thing, buy a spare 12AX7 tube because the one that it brings will only last some time but will eventually fall so that costed a half star but still it is one hell of an amazing amp.
