    Pro Musician and Recording Artist

    Roland and Cakewalk Together

Together this is a great recording tool I'm a Roland and Cakewalk person you can be sure when they put something out it will do the job.The unit is small not too bulky so it's out of the way and the software is great for a PC.If you ever want to record with not much equipment this is it,on the road or in your home studio. The effects are great, for guitar players like myself the effects board looks like my Boss ME70 so switching to different effects is easy. This can record more than just guitar you can record anything you want on it.The vocals come out very good
Note:Have a good PC,MIC,Headphones, and some good Studio Monitors so you can hear the true sound of this unit.I let a well known artist hear what I recorded on it and he was blown away.

    Sonar users enjoy

Just received this item a couple days ago and fell instantly in love with it. This is the perfect solution for a low budget home studio, especially if your using sonar. It integrates instantly and perfectly within sonar. And for the price you get an amazing amount of personal recording power. Hi-z line for the guitar, phantom powered mic input, stereo onboard condensors for foolin around and output for direct monitoring. For me this seems to be the perfect way to get started in recording with no hassle. Also there are nice boss effects for guitars and vocals, lightens up the load on your daw a lot. The only reason it did not get 5 stars is because it is constructed like a t.v. remote so be careful with this little guy. And little it is, it leaves almost no footprint in your work area. For someone needing a solution for home computer recording this is it, if you need something to drag around to gigs upgrade to something that can take a punch.

Very Good but needs more COSM Presets

I have been using the Boss GS-10 tabletop guitar processor with Cakewalk software and virtual effects editor for 6 years before buyting thisCakewalk V-Studio 20 in March 2012. The editor is easy to use, and the USB audio interface works great with the included Cakewalk Guitar Tracks Pro 4 software. It is superior to the GS-10 because it can record vocals and guitar at the same time. However, it lacks the BOSS COSM effects versatility the GS-10 has. So instead I now use Native Instruments Guitar Rig 5 Pro with the Cakewalk V-Studio 20, and am much happier with that recording set up. The V-Studio 20 ASIO drivers work great with Guitar Rig 5 Pro, and I recommend using that over the COSM Boss effects shipped with this unit. I also like using the Boss FS-5U footswitches with the V-Studio 20 for playback and recording, as well as with my Roland Expression pedal for volume and wah.

I haven't explored the recording aspect of this unit yet, but I have really enjoyed the loops and guitar effects that I can use for guitar practice. Very cool.
