The Definitive Wah, Reissued

When you think of the sound of an electric guitar singing through a wah pedal, you're envisioning the sound of the Vox V846-HW hand-wired wah pedal. The V846-HW is based on Vox's legendary V846 wah from 1967, regarded by many guitarists as the epitome of the wah-wah effect. The V846-HW hand-wired wah pedal uses the same vintage spec Halo-type inductors that gave the original V846 its iconic sound. In fact, every component of the V846-HW was chosen to give you vintage tone, low-noise operation, and top-notch performance. The Vox V846-HW hand-wired wah pedal may be the last wah you ever need.

Vox V846-HW Hand-wired Wah Pedal at a Glance:
  • Hand-wired reissue of a classic
  • Premium components for optimum tone
  • Built to last
Hand-wired reissue of a classic

Just like the original it's based on, the Vox V846-HW wah pedal sports hand-wired turret board construction - no printed circuit boards here! While labor intensive, hand-wiring lets Vox's expert technicians optimize the signal path for low noise and maximum tone. Your amplifier will absolutely love it.

Premium components for optimum tone

Beyond hand-wired construction, every component of the V846-HW wah pedal was chosen for maximum sonic benefit. The heart, soul, and vibe of the original V846 wah came from its Halo-type inductor, and the V846-HW uses a vintage-spec Halo-type inductor to put that vintage vibe at your feet. Also note the low-noise carbon composite resistors, chosen for their quiet operation and sonic transparency.

Built to last

The Vox V846-HW is ready to take to the road, with rugged construction and dependable operation. The classic die-cast body can take years of abuse. The footswitch itself is made by Carling Technologies, specialists in high-quality components. And the input and output jacks are made by Switchcraft, so you know you'll always get a clean, consistent connection.

Box v846-hw

Excellent way pedal the best I've ever used. Very quiet whether in use or not. Very well built should last. Surprised it's battery powered only but I'm sure it could be modified easily for a power supply.

Sounds of the 60's

Ruggedly built and smooth, the Vox V846 will hearken you back to the good old days of the 60's .... when music REALLY meant something. A bit pricey - but you get what you pay for !!!

Classic Wah Wah

I was a little hesitant to spend this much on a Wah but after some research I pulled the trigger and bought this beauty and so far I am not disappointed. It has the warm classic wah sound made popular in the late 60s and 70s. It has a solid construction with an all metal frame. Perfect for Blues and Rock.

Great, But Battery Only?

Great wah sound, small footprint without any knobs so it fits on my board. The only negative is that I had to drill a hole, in the bottom plate, to be able to use my power supply (with a battery adapter cable). It's made for battery-only, for some reason, I suppose but that is not apparent. I use the provided plexi bottom-plate because it's easier to drill.

Vox846-HW Wah Pedal

This is the first Wah Pedal I have had, so I didn't feel confident enough to give it 5 stars. It is a very clean wah and works as I expected. I would have liked a little more controll over the range of the effect. The pedal seems very sensitive. Excellent transparent tones!!
