More than just a travel guitar

I travel frequently and wanted a small guitar that was easy to carry. My Martin backpack was ok, but the tone wasn't great and it was just a little too big. This is only 28" long and the tone is great. Without an amp, it sounds like an unplugged electric. This is fine for practice and this has made it my go to guitar for daily practice, both on the road and at home. I can practice while my wife watches tv without disturbing her. When plugged in the sound is great. I use my Fender amp directly as well as a Vox pre-amp to go to a small speaker or headphones. The removable lap support is ok, but I found that it slipped too much. I fixed this by using a strap which works great by itself. The price seemed a little high, but it is a high quality instrument. I also love the service I get from Sweetwater, no one else comes close.

Ultra-Light Indeed

If all you need is a light-weight guitar that you can take anywhere and practice to your heart's content, then get this guitar! I'm a big fan of the Traveler guitars and this one is no exception. The Ultra-Light Steel-string Guitar will quite literally be the lightest and quite possibly the smallest guitar that you will see out there. It's also "ultra light" weighing in at less than 3 pounds (hence the name of the guitar I suppose?). If you can, I would highly recommend trying this guitar out for yourself and seeing what it's all about. I bought it mainly for space reasons and for the ease of traveling with it when I have to move (being a student, I practically have to move every year or so). It's definitely worth it at the price that it's set at. Traveler Guitar has very much lived up to their name and continues to make excellent products such as this!

Great little guitar

Bought this guitar to have a guitar that I could take on mission trips to the Dominican Republic. Went with the Acoustic-electric to have a different sound than my Gibson Les Paul and Epiphone Dot. This guitar plays very nice. Stays in tune well. Sounds great. Works well with the Blackstar Fly3 amp. My only complaint is that is a little clumsy to play with the metal support. I find it easier to use a neck strap even when seated.

I love this guitar

First of all I am not really that good in playing guitars but after I got my hands on this guitar, I think there will be improvements on my skill. I can bring it with me and play it anywhere without disturbing others. I was so excited when it arrived yesterday and was surprised by the candies they put in the box for me. The box was sealed and the guitar is in perfect condition. I just noticed that although it is in tune but when I checked it with my tuners it was a little bit flat. The guitar has a medium action which is just perfect for me. This is the first time I am playing a traveler guitar but I did not took much time to adpot to it's size. It is easy and fun to play without the pain on your shoulders when playing it with a strap. Good customer service and fast delivery. Keep it up... I might consider buying my second bass guitar from here someday.

A mixed blessing

Ingenius design. Truly light and portable. With a strap, an ear-phone amp or interface, it's a real instrument, no question. BUT, the set-up was not so great. Right now, my local luthier is lowering the nut and shaving the saddle to improve the unacceptably high action. I like the guitar enough to spend the extra bucks on this (in a pinch, a capo at the first or second fret will also help a good deal). I look forward to taking this eccentric little ax on a two-month journey to China in a few weeks.
Music background: Very Old Folkie. Played and sang on the streets of Paris in 1965. Does that make me a pro?
