    Affordable Working solution DUB H-7

Small footprint, turns 1 free into 7 useable USB ports.
Near zero Latency. Works for controller, synth, drum pads etc.
Two ports double as charging station. -note keep these open
or free to avoid shutting down hardware/controller separately.

Simple to setup and works great

Works as advertised and was simple to setup.
Definitely a plus to having those 2 powered outlets for my apple devices.
I now run an insane amount of USB peripherals off 1 main USB port (insane meaning like 8 at any one time)

    Good, stable USB hub

So far, no issues. It does what I want it to do, and the power supply keeps it stable.

Not recommended for use with a Mac

I returned my first one when the power charging feature failed after a couple of weeks.

With it and the replacement, the hub goes to sleep with my 2010 iMac but does not wake up. I have to disconnect and reconnect for my computer to see it again. Unacceptable. I should have returned it.

D-Link was the weak link of my home studio

Being that I bought this product off of Sweetwater and it had good reviews, I expected this thing to serve me well. And it did. It ran my audio interface, my midi keyboards, my iLok, and my mouse. It worked great... for about 4 months. The problems with this device started with my keyboard. When I would turn on my keyboard it would work for about 1 minute before my computer would cease to recieve the midi data from it. Sometimes it would work fine, but other times I would just have to try and try again. Then, most recently, after 5 months of owning this USB hub, the audio in my interface started distorting and crackling. You would think that because it was sold on a music technology site that it would be able to withstand the heat of a rather basic home studio, but apparently not. Admittedly, one USB hub is not a good sample size to say that all of D-Links products are bad, or even that their 7-port usb hub is bad. All I can say is that it was bad for me and I wouldn't recommend it unless you're just using it to charge a phone and use a mouse. I'm sure those things would work perfectly fine.
