Pitch-perfect Stompbox Effects!

Pitch shifting and harmony are some of the most entertaining effects to play with, but most guitar pedals that deal with these kinds of effects are one-trick ponies. That's why the Behringer Ultra Shifter/Harmonist US600 is such an outstanding pedal, particularly among the more affordable stompboxes you'll find here at Sweetwater. This pedal combines five different detune and harmony effects into one, including Tremolo Bar, Flutter, Detune, Harmonist, and Pitch Shifter. The Pitch Shifter and Harmony setting give you distinct doubling effects, whereas the Tremolo Bar and Flutter effects bend your sound in creative ways at the push of a switch. And if you just want to thicken up your tone, set the US600 to Detune and go nuts. And when you add an expression pedal to control the Pitch setting on the fly, you'll be amazed by the range of sounds you'll get out of the Ultra Shifter/Harmonist US600.

Ultra Shifter/Harmonist US600 Features:
  • Real Sound Modeling (RSM) technology delivers realistic detuning and harmony effects
  • 5 modes (Tremolo Bar, Flutter, Detune, Harmonist, and Pitch Shifter) deliver a wide range of expression
  • Tremolo Bar effects can shift up to 2 full octaves
  • Harmonist pitch can provide 3rds, 4ths, 5ths, 6ths, octaves, or double octaves
  • 10-step Key select control lets you dictate which key you're playing in for intelligent harmonies
  • Delay/Speed control adjusts the character of your effect
  • Balance lets you blend in as much effect with your dry signal as you like
  • Add a TRS expression pedal to control the Pitch setting on the fly
  • Runs on standard 9V battery or optional power supply for full pedalboard integration
Create cool harmony and detune effects with the Behringer Ultra Shifter/Harmonist US600!

Behringers Harmonist Pedal and a couple others

I very seldom write reviews but when I do it's mostly to let people know that ignore the really bad reviews. I bought 3 Behringer pedals, The Harmonist, Chorus and Compression/Sustain pedal. I waited writing this because I wasn't sure if I was going to keep the Sustain or not. Absolutely nothing wrong with the pedal but I wasn't sure I needed it since I have the Ibanez Tube scream and Boss BD2. All three of the pedals are very very good. Don't let the price make you think these are cheap and disposable pedals. They are not. The Harmonist can do some really special sounds with different combinations. Like all similar pedals you have to spend a lot of time playing with the different combinations. This is sort of true for the Chorus pedal as well but the learning curve is pretty quick. The Compression/Sustain is completely what you like and not whether the pedal does the job or not. Now why did I rate these are a 4.5 instead of a 5? Certainly not because the pedals are plastic instead of the Tank armor metal that Ibanez and Boss uses. If there is a draw back to these pedals it's the design of the battery option. You have to push in the pedal stem to open the pedal to get to the battery. I found it cumbersome and quite frankly a little difficult to open and reclose. It would be better to use something like the other brands for storing the battery. Yes it's plastic but heavy duty so unless you ride over it with a truck or you purposely throw it on a hard surface these pedals won't break. Last comment is about my Sales person Brad Good. I liked the fact he verified that I placed the order prior to shipping to make sure it's what I wanted and in fact I did order them.

Behringer US600 Hamonist

Not just a harmony pedal. This product is a "best kept secret". If you like to run between two amps for a super beautiful modulation effect you'll probably trade in your flanger and chorus after hearing this pedal. The harmony effect is O.K. but shines in mod settings. I bought two, and you can too because of the low price point. I use them in the studio- made of hard plastic but would probably not take them on the road. Take some time to make adjustments and tweeks and you' ll be amazed!

Nice Pedal will do what it is designed to do.

After Comparing this side by side with the Boss Harmony Pedal I decided to pick the Behringer it up. It will do the same things as good as boss plus a few others. For one the Flutter is a pretty cool feature it is kind of like a whammy but will waver the bar up & down a little. Granted I have a trem for that. The harmony works well. Though like most pedals it will get a little garbled on extreme settings but you can pretty much get the sound of guitars playing a harmony part with a little tweaking. The detune & pitch feature is nice too you can get that sort of metallic sound to your playing. The Whammy part works well too. I love using that on the ends of songs you know for that big concert ending. The button as a stop is very effective it goes on & off with no audible delay. The Big deal people make is the pedal is plastic. to that I say so are a lot of smaller mixing boards. The plastic is super hard & will take a beating, I also figured it's a harmony pedal it is not like I am going to be slamming this thing many times a night in 4 sets maybe I use it 5x. If you have it mounted to a pedal board the only banging it will see is a few times from use but is sturdy enough for me. it also cost 33% of the one in the metal box.

Surprisingly cool

Really interesting pedal. I'm continually surprised that I find it in use. Cool harmonics, great chorus effect. The knobs and settings are a little funky, it's hard to dial up a sound and keep it there. This is more of a "let's see what happens!" Kinda deal.

Us 600 Ultra Shifter

For what I was looking for in sound, this thing does it great.
