Ubass Sub Sunburst
Kala U-bass Sub Sunburst has a fantastic sound with the Road Toad strings. I have a Fender Pbass, Hofner V62, and a Hofner CT bass. They have the "metallic" sound. This Kala Sub with its Road Toad strings have a distinct real "thumpy" sound. This is what I always wanted. Something that sounded very close to a double bass without the size of course. You need to check out the video U tube reviews on this model. Once I got it, I couldn't put it down. Like other people mention about getting use to the "rubbery - Like" strings; it takes some time, but I have had this little bass for about 2 months now and I am so pleased with it. The sound will definitely BLOW YOU AWAY. Check this bad boy out. It is well made even though it is the China model...these guys do a great job making it. Quality all the way. I just want to also point out that Kala has their California model as well. Now that one I can't speak for . I did almost buy one of those, but I did not want to spend that much money on a "try it first" basis. Another thing that made me choose this model was it was "Sunburst". None of the others, including the California models, have that option. I use "baby powder" on my fingers every now and then to allow my fingers to "slide" more. Then I wipe them off when finished. Hey, my salesman from Sweetwater, Joe James, was great to get this to me too. You really have to experience this sound from this little bass. Just do it.
