    This thing Rocks!

Never expected so much functionality ... Love the effects loop ... It's like having two pedals in one ... And the tube distortion goes from 0 to hero ;-)

    Classic Marshall Tone

This pedal nails the early 70's era Marshall tones I grew up with. For me, the search for an amp that had clean and solo tones like a Deluxe Reverb as well as Marshall crunch rhythm and solo tones from the Plexi-era Marshalls has been a long one. No amp I've ever played does both competently. The Plexitube delivers one of those tones, actually two. The two presets allow for that Marshall crunch rhythm and that scooped burnin hot solo tone. It's a snap to level match between the bypassed clean from my amp and the two presets when the effect is on. An unexpected plus is that I can turn my guitar volume down to 3 or 4, and she cleans up like an amp. The control layout is easy and I think intuitive. Each channel is very tweakable as well. For me, that's the name of the game - flexibility. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for plexi tones in their setup to compliment their tonal arsenal. These aren't cheap imitations like you get from modeling amps, either. This sounds like a Marshall. And being made by Radial, it's very well made. The Plexitube is like adding two more channels to your amp. As my setup uses two heads under 20 watts into a stereo 1960A, I can get that Marshall tone at a very reasonable volume. I shouldn't close without a minor observation. I personally would prefer all of the connection be at the back of the effect as it allows me to keep all of my connections cleaner. This would save room on my board. But, a minor issue. And one that's more personal preference than complaint.
