Aguilar Carry Bag for Tone Hammer 500 Reviews

The bag is, not surprsingly, a perfect fit for the Tone Hammer 500 head and very nicely made. As with every Aguilar item I've bought, the quality is excellent and it works exactly as advertised.

This fits fine.

An excellent bag, good protection. As mentioned, the front pocket could have been a little deeper, but on the other hand, nobody will probably go to a gig or a session without their instrument, and there should be room for instrument cords and other accessories there.

This is a very nice bag and it is made very well!

The bag does the job it was intended to do, but with not much extra.

I found that there were two main "quality and quantity of parts" issues that is a mild irritant:

The first is that there is not enough room in the front zippered compartment for carrying the extra stuff you need. Aguilar should have chosen to double the depth of this pocket. Currently is barely enough for your power, speaker & guitar cables. Not a whole lot more can fit nicely in there.

The second is the choice of materials for the large carry strap. I find that Aguilar could have chosen better materials for the strap. Not very high quality. I think that they could also have added better stitch type to the loop ends on this. Either a double bar tack or (for lack of a better description) a "Box+X" stitch as used in parachutes (or backpacks) where strength is needed.

I also haven't figured out if there is a correct position for the movable internal padding yet, but that's a non-issue.

Even though these are just pet peeves, I would still recommend this as it is a great option to keep your amp safe.

This amp bag for the Aguilar Tonehammer 500 seems to be really high quality. It's very compact, well padded, and has nice metal fasteners and hooks for the shoulder strap. The amp fits in quite snug, with little wasted space.

Which leads me to my only complaint... the zippered pocket seems to be a little on the small side. It's just barely large enough to fit all the cables I need (power cable and two speaker cables). One would be hard pressed to squeeze a tuner pedal or anything else into the pocket.

Overall though, very satisfied with this bag

This carry bag lives up to the intended purpose (carry your TH500 amp on your shoulder, freeing a hand), but the zippers are super, super cheap. Both sets on mine busted within a couple of months. The accessory pocket totally busted, so I risk losing accessories (e.g., speaker cable and instrument cable). Buying a replacement and hoping for better luck. If it fails in the same way, I will probably revise the review to be worse.

Great bag for, crappy cheap zippers tho, I had one break a couple days after receiving the bag. For the price I expected more, especially from Aguilar.
