The Orange Thunderverb is one of the few amps out there that I can't stop listening to. Great tone, a realistic 3-Band EQ that actually allows you to craft more than two sounds, and a power attenuator that lets you play proudly at lower volumes!

The reverb on this beast is crisp, the distortion is tight, and a new shape control for the mids allow for this creature to unleash torrents of power upon your listeners.

Perfect for the club, perfect for the studio, and perfect for your practice space, this amp is a great focal point of your rig!

    Not what I was expecting

I'm mean it was not what I was expecting in a good way. I kinda thought this was going to be a metal amp, and you can get metal sounds in channel b with the shape knob as the only eq. However I use that same channel to get really nice clean tones. Channel A has great classic crunch and can be pushed beyond that if you need it to. It is a fairly dynamic amp and responds to touch and guitar volume control. I really like the attenuater, it allows you to get a really nice tone no matter what size the Gig and even at home at bedroom level. This is a really great amp that does not seem to be getting enough hype.

Orange Amps are known for their high-gain rock applications. The Thunderverb 50 has no shortage of that exact quality. At the same time the Thunderverb 50 is no one trick pony. It's a two channel Class AB amplifier with loads of gain for rockers. It also has a clean that could be used for blues or even some jazz applications.

I used it with my 50's re-issue Strat and got a very nice SRV tone that was perfect for classics like "Little Wing" or Jimi Hendrix's "The Wind Cries Mary." Turn up the gain knob on that same channel are you're working with nice classic rock overdrive sounds. I dialed in a sound that was reminiscent of The Who's "Baba O'Riley."

Switching over to the B Channel you'll get a similar clean with the gain turned down. However, turn it all the way to the right and suddenly my vintage single coil sounds like Metallica's "Master of Puppets." The B Channel also has a great shape knob that will add a lot of tonal variety going from Metallica into "Crazy Train" or even Ted Nugget's "Stranglehold."

Overall, a great tube amp for any guitarist and with the built-in tube reverb and variable attention it will sound great at any volume.
