A Supercharged Rendition of a Classic Workhorse

An aggressive, supercharged rendition of Fender's original workhorse instrument, this Standard Telecaster HH is a performance-packed solidbody electric guitar. Rather than the usual single-coil pickups, this guitar sports a pair of Blacktop open-coil humbuckers, giving you loads of full-throated tone. You also get a coil-splitting push-pull switch, so you can pile on the classic Tele twang when the occasion calls for it. The guitarists here at Sweetwater absolutely love Fender's comfortable modern C-shaped necks, and this solidbody electric guitar gives you one, along with an easy-to-play 9.5" radius fingerboard. If you're a Tele-lover but are craving some massive high-gain power, then check out this Fender Standard Telecaster HH solidbody electric guitar!

Fender Standard Telecaster HH Solidbody Electric Guitar at a Glance:

HH pickup configuration delivers versatile, supercharged tone

For this Standard Telecaster HH solidbody electric guitar, Fender changed out one of its typical Telecaster single-coil pickups for a pair of Blacktop open-coil humbuckers, giving you loads of tonal variations. You can coax anything from classic Tele twang to aggressive, throaty humbucker tones out of these flexible tone machines. If that wasn't enough, you also get a coil-splitting push-pull switch built into this guitar's tone knob, giving you even more tonal versatility. This Standard Telecaster HH was designed to be a flexible guitar that's ready for any situation.

Maple neck and rosewood fingerboard with modern C shape and satin urethane finish

Leo Fender wasn't a guitar player. In fact, he got his start repairing radios. So he had no idea that guitars weren't supposed to have maple necks. In time, those blonde maple necks and fingerboards became a Fender trademark, though the company eventually offered rosewood fingerboards on most of its models. This Fender Standard Telecaster HH solidbody electric guitar has the maple neck, but adds the rosewood fingerboard for a warmer, more traditional sound, look, and feel. In keeping with contemporary tastes, this Tele has a more modern C-shaped maple neck with a satin urethane finish.

The Fender Telecaster - a brief history

This is it: the original guitar that started Fender's march into contemporary music history. It appeared in the early 1950s and was first named the Broadcaster. The ingeniously simple design, the bolt-on neck, and the slab body all contribute to the guitar's trademark tones and player-friendly feel. From Nashville twang to blistering rock tones, the Telecaster sound has made its presence felt in nearly every musical category. The diverse list of Telecaster players attests to the guitar's universal capabilities: Muddy Waters, Keith Richards, James Burton, Bruce Springsteen, Joe Strummer, John 5, and many others.

Fender Standard Telecaster HH Solidbody Electric Guitar Features:
  • HH pickup configuration delivers versatile, supercharged tone
  • Coil-splitting push-pull switch gives you plenty of tonal versatility
  • Alder body provides you with a great-sounding complexity of tones
  • Modern C-shaped neck serves up outstanding feel
  • 9.5" radius fingerboard with medium-jumbo frets let you bend up high without fretting out
This Fender Standard Telecaster HH solidbody electric guitar is packed with high-gain performance!

Telecaster HH

The Fender Blacktop humbuckers are very very good. The tone knob produces a range of tones that go from clean jazz to snarl, this is a great design. Sustain with the hard tail is very good. I wish I had started with Fender rather than Epiphone. Owned 9 epiphones, but this is a better choice. Better humbuckers, better articulation, better wood resonance than the Epiphone meranti wood. Clearly better than a Squire, or any Epiphone, sounds good thru both a Marshall MG and Fender SS

Fantastic guitar!

This guitar is fantastic! Its difficult to see a difference in build quality between this guitar and my American made Strat. This guitar produces some unique and amazing tones. The setup on the guitar was perfect right out of the box. Robert provided me with superb customer service as always. Great guitar, great value, great customer service! Thank you sweet water.

Absolutely amazing!

Straight out of the box close to perfect; changed to my brand of 9-52s, set the intonation, and away we go! Humbuckers are hot, hot, HOT! SMOKIN' HOT! Split 'em and they are THE closest-to-real-single-coils I have EVER used!Pre-ordered an Oly white; got it today, gig it in May. Sweetwater and rep Paul Eckert RULE!

FENDER QC

I ORDERED THIS GUITAR BACK IN FEB. 2016. WHEN I PULLED IT FROM THE FOAM BAG I NOTICED THE FINISH WAS WAVY HAD RIPPLES UNDER THE CLEAR COAT. THE GUITAR PLAYED SO GOOD I DIDN'T WANT TO SEND IT BACK. BUT EVERY TIME I LOOKED AT IT I WAS DEPRESSED A FENDER SHOULD NOT BE THE WORST LOOKING GUITAR IN MY COLLECTION. I CONTACTED MY SALES ENGINEER STEVEN CHAMOUN HE HOOKED ME UP WITH ADAM THE RETURN GUY. THESE GUYS ARE NUMBER ONE IN MY BOOK. IT HAD BEEN MORE THAN TEN DAYS I EXPLAINED THE PROBLEM TO ADAM AND HE SENT ME A REPLACEMENT THE SAME DAY. THE REPLACEMENT IS BEAUTIFUL I AM PROUD TO SHOW IT TO MY GUITAR PLAYING FRIENDS. SWEETWATER GETS 5 STARS THE GUITAR GETS 5 STARS BUT FENDER QUALITY CONTROL GETS 0 THAT GUITAR SHOULD HAVE BEEN STOPPED AT THE FACTORY . THE FENDER NAME IS AT STAKE . WHERE IS YOUR QUALITY CONTROL . I WILL THINK TWICE BEFORE I SPEND BIG BUCKS ON A FENDER. WAKE UP FENDER. THANK YOU SWEETWATER FOR YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE .
