A Modern Tele with Full-on '60s Vibe

This Fender Classic Player Baja '60s Telecaster solidbody electric guitar has been injected with full-on 1960s features and vibe, which are evident in its rosewood fingerboard and comfortable '60s C-shaped neck profile. A departure from the typical Tele ash body, this electric guitar's alder body gives you a fuller, warmer sound while retaining all of the sustain and cutting mids that you'd expect from a well-crafted Telecaster. When you plug in, you can expect a vintage-tinged, warm and edgy twang to leap out of your amp, thanks to a combination of '58 and '52 American Vintage single-coil pickups. Complete with custom wiring, this Fender Classic Player Baja '60s Telecaster solidbody electric guitar is destined to become a Sweetwater favorite!

Fender Classic Player Baja '60s Telecaster Solidbody Electric Guitar at a Glance:
  • 3-saddle bridge and string-through-body provide classic twang and sustain
  • American Vintage single-coil pickups deliver classic warmth and edge
  • The Classic Player collection offers cool variations on timeless Fender instruments
3-saddle bridge and string-through-body provide classic twang and sustain

The original Teles came with bridge assemblies that consisted of three brass saddles rather than six individually adjustable saddles. Many connoisseurs of vintage Telecasters feel that the brass saddles - while making intonation a bit more difficult - is what gave the Tele that unmistakable twang. This Fender Classic Player Baja '60s Telecaster solidbody electric guitar is equipped with a vintage-style 3-saddle bridge for classic Tele tone and string-through-body for excellent sustain.

American Vintage single-coil pickups deliver classic warmth and edge

The original Tele pickups had more twang than any two normal guitars, thanks to single-coil pickups in the bridge and neck positions. This Fender Classic Player Baja '60s Telecaster solidbody electric guitar sports '58 and '52 American Vintage single-coil pickups, giving you plenty warmth and edge along with that signature Tele twang. On top of its custom pickups, this electric guitar is wired with a special 4-position blade switch and a 2-position S-1 switch. This custom configuration gives you tonal options ranging from classic Tele to series and parallel out-of-phase tones - not to mention special fat tones and high-output settings. From classic to modern, this Tele's got a tone for you!

The Classic Player collection offers cool variations on timeless Fender instruments

When Fender first announced the Classic Player series back in 2006, Sweetwater was thrilled to provide musicians like you with the opportunity to own vintage-style guitars and basses that play as well or better than the latest models rolling off the line. In the years that followed, this series has grown to included popular models from the 1950s through the 1970s, re-imagined with with key pieces of modern guitar craftsmanship. This Fender Classic Player Baja '60s Telecaster solidbody electric guitar is one of these brilliant creations. It offers classic looks and tone with a feel any modern guitarist is sure to appreciate. Classic Fender Tone

I purchased this guitar in Candy Apple Red. As an avid Tele player this is my first MIM, the build quality is as good as my Americans. Love the slab rosewood neck, very 50's which was what I wanted, pick ups and S1 switch bring tones you can only dream of, but are a reality. Just don't want to put it down. Happy, happy, happy! My Sweetwater sales guy is Norb Berninger. Great help, has been my Sweetwater rep since I started buying equipment from them several years ago. Gotta go back to playing....

Beautiful look and sound

My first Fender and definitely not my last. I love all the tonal possibilities. I love the way it looks in sonic blue, although I wish the neck was maple. It sounds like a Telecaster is supposed to sound and feels rock solid.

Fender Classic Player Baja 60's Tele

This guitar was everything I was hoping it would be, right out of the box. Setup was great, I didn't have to tweak any saddle heights or anything. I love the rosewood fingerboard, and the faded Sonic Blue finish gives it a cool retro vibe. I even ordered the Strat version, and I have to tell you, they make a lovely couple in my music room. I used to be wary of buying a guitar I couldn't hold and play first, but this is the fifth guitar I've bought through Sweetwater, and you haven't let me down yet. Kudos to Karl Long, my sales rep, for his great follow up. I would recommend this guitar to any player at any level.

Sonic Blue Classic Player Tele

Well, I have to say that I love this Tele so much I felt compelled to review it. I really had been wanting a Tele with a rosewood fingerboard and when I saw this with the faded blue finish I thought, "that's it!" When I first got it I just stared at it for the longest time because it is so beautiful. The grain in the rosewood board and the blue finish are just stunning. The playability and sounds you can get out of it are right on. Interestingly, as I usually play 10's, I thought I'd rip the strings off right away and change them but, the more I played it, the more I started saying, "Dang, I really like this!" In fact, I like it so much that I went back to 9's on my other Tele, too. So, in closing, if a Tele is your thing, you gotta get this. And don't be a snob about the made in Mexico thing. It's a custom-shop guitar assembled in Mexico and everything about it is as good or better than the American guitars I have - honestly!

Incredible Mexi Tele!!!

I've LOVED this guitar ever since I unpacked it! I was looking through the ultra dozens of Telecasters Sweetwater sells and this one spoke to me! I adore rosewood necks and the vintage color... Maybe that was why I clicked to buy the unbelievable fantabulous guitar? She's got tone! She plays so nice! All I can say is straight out of the Box this beautiful Telecaster is a winner from the start and trust me! I have owned 3 USA tele's and this one eats them all up with quality and tone!Heh! Would I buy it again? Hell Yeah! And, Again and again and again! ♥ it!
