A Thinline for the Modern Player

Fender's American Elite Telecaster Thinline semi-hollowbody electric guitar is a great instrument for pickers who love the classic platform but need a wider palette of tones. You'll get the noise-free twang and cut Fender Noiseless Tele pickups are known for. An S-1 switch adds new pickup voicings to the American Elite Tele Thinline. And features like a 9.5"-14" compound-radius fretboard make these guitars effortless to play. The Fender American Elite Telecaster Thinline is the future of one of the most popular workhorse guitars ever.

  • Semi-hollow construction
Familiar tones with a twist

Onboard the American Elite Telecaster Thinline is a duo of Fender's fourth-generation Noiseless single-coil pickups. These improved designs deliver the Telecaster's familiar punch and twang. But the Noiseless circuitry eliminates unwanted signal noise and hum, making the guitar ideal for live performance and touring. The S-1 switch, imbedded in the volume knob, adds new pickup combinations for additional Tele tones. And the ash and maple construction is a tried-and-true combination that has proven itself over decades.

Neck designed with you in mind

Fender has been known for their iconic neck profiles since their beginning. The American Elite Telecaster Thinline continues the tradition with a comfortable contour that's not too thin, not too wide. The 9.5"-14" compound fretboard radius ensures comfort while chording, and it flattens out up high for unimpeded string bending and vibrato. And the neck's rolled fretboard edges feel like a well worn guitar as soon as you open the case.

Semi-hollow construction

An addition you're sure to appreciate on the American Elite Telecaster Thinline is the semi-hollow construction. This design imparts more air and acoustic resonance to your guitar tone. And it makes the guitar lighter on your shoulder for those marathon gigs. The guitar also maintains its balance well. And putting the S-1 switch in the volume knob ensures the American Elite Tele Thinline looks and functions just like your favorite thinlines from the past.

Fender American Elite Telecaster Thinline Electric Guitar Features:
  • Upgraded American Telecaster Thinline
  • 4th-generation Fender Noiseless pickups
  • S-1 switch offers more sonic options
  • Ideal 9.5"-14" compound-radius fretboard
  • Semi-hollow construction opens the tone and removes weight
  • Includes strap locks and adjustment wrenches
The Fender American Elite Telecaster Thinline is a workhorse guitar for today's players.

what a tele!

i was having back trouble with my tele i was giging with. i ordered the new elite because of the weight factor. it came in around 6 pounds and what a difference. it was flawless, the neck played excellent and the new pickups sound very good. the new case is also very good. i got the natural color with the turtle shell binding which is stuning! the new bridge i like. sounds great and makes string changes breeze. i am more than satisfied with my purchase!

Telecaster Elite Thinline - Natural

Wow! What an unbelievable feel and sound. Moving up from a Mexico built Tele to this was like going from a golf cart to a Caddy! Wonderful feel on the compound radius fretboard and the fit and finish of the guitar with its natural ash graining is impeccable. It really is a piece of art....that plays like a screamer! The whole experience and customer service at Sweetwater was a joy.

Top quality & tone

First off, this guitar looks killer. Ash is the wood of choice for that classic tele sound, but comes with a high price, so that's part of what you're paying for here. The neck is very smooth & easy to play with the satin finish new neck profile. The binding looks black in this picture, but actually matches the deep-red tortoise pick-guard. I really appreciated the "boost" button, which is hidden on the top of the 1st volume pot and makes a great addition to kick into leads or to push your amp/distortion even harder. The semi-hollow body makes this guitar extremely light, while providing added resonance while the new noiseless pickups sound warm, full & of course noise-free. As with the other Elite guitars, this was on back-order. It took a long 2 months to receive it, but I've been enjoying it everyday for the past 4 months!

Modern Take On Classic

First off I would like to thank Sales Engineer, Stuart Niven and the Sweetwater staff for helping me with my purchase of the Fender American Elite Telecaster Thinline. The first one had numerous problems and frankly, I don't know how it got thru Fender's quality control. Certainly not an instrument I would call "Elite." After a lot of back and forth Sweetwater shipped me a second guitar and it is excellent. I received some of the best customer service ever! Now the guitar. Excellent in every way from tone, intonation, action, weight, frets and overall, excellent craftsmanship. Great clean tone right out of the box. A very comfortable guitar to play with smooth neck and polished fret ends. Some may not like the new bridge but I have experienced no issues with it. The 4th generation noiseless pickups do offer a slightly less hum-free tone, but to my ear it doesn't seem that much different than my American Standard Telecaster. And regarding the S-1 switch, I don't get this at all. In my experience it just makes for a fuzzier tone and increases the volume a bit. Overall, Fender did a good job at upgrading their classic Telecaster Thinline to modern specifications with a host of improvements for a great sounding and playing guitar.
