A Tele for the Modern Player

Fender's American Elite Telecaster solidbody electric guitar is a great instrument for pickers who love the classic platform but need a wider palette of tones. You'll get the familiar twang and cut Teles are known for, but without the 60-cycle hum, thanks to a pair of fourth-generation Fender Noiseless single-coil pickups. An S-1 switch adds new pickup voicings to the American Elite Tele. And features like a 9.5"-14" compound-radius fretboard make these guitars effortless to play. The Fender American Elite Telecaster is the future of one of the most popular workhorse guitars ever.

Fender American Elite Telecaster Electric Guitar at a Glance:
  • Familiar tones with a twist
  • Neck designed with you in mind
  • Comfort contours
Familiar tones with a twist

Onboard the American Elite Telecaster is a duo of Fender's fourth-generation Noiseless single-coil pickups. These improved designs deliver the Telecaster's familiar punch and twang. But the Noiseless circuitry eliminates unwanted signal noise and hum, making the guitar ideal for live performance and touring. The S-1 switch, imbedded in the volume knob, adds new pickup combinations for additional Tele tones. And the alder and maple construction is a tried-and-true combination that has proven itself over decades.

Neck designed with you in mind

Fender has been known for their iconic neck profiles since their beginning. The American Elite Telecaster continues the tradition with a comfortable contour that's not too thin, not too wide. The 9.5"-14" compound fretboard radius ensures comfort while chording, and it flattens out up high for unimpeded string bending and vibrato. And the neck's rolled fretboard edges feel like a well worn guitar as soon as you open the case.

Comfort contours

An addition you're sure to appreciate is the belly and arm comfort contours on the body of the American Elite Telecaster. The guitar will sit optimally and offer natural strumming movement when you're performing, while keeping with the standard Telecaster body shape. And putting the S-1 switch in the volume knob ensures the American Elite Tele looks and functions just like your favorite teles from the past.

Fender American Elite Telecaster Electric Guitar Features:
  • Upgraded American Telecaster
  • 4th-generation Fender Noiseless pickups
  • S-1 switch offers more sonic options
  • Ideal 9.5"-14" compound-radius fretboard
  • Comfort belly and arm contours

The Fender American Elite Telecaster is a workhorse guitar for today's players.

Exceptional Service

I want to give a special thanks to Dave Snow for working with me on purchasing my guitar and effects. Over the course of about 1.5 years we had phone conversations or email correspondence, all working toward finding me the perfect deal. Dave was patient and never pressured me, he also took the time to value my family and other situations that arose which prevented me from purchasing the guitar sooner. Dave is a wealth of knowledge and I will be contacting him again soon for a few more music needs. I think it's worth mentioning that I chose Sweetwater because of the relational factors established with Dave. There are many competitors out there, your focus on the customer as a person and not an object of revenue is what makes you stand out above them.

Love at first note!

I'm truly in love with this guitar in < 24 hrs. Having owned quite a few upper end guitars over the year, this is actually my first "tele", and now I'm thinking about why I didn't go there sooner. The C-D neck feels absolutely amazing and the tone of the noiseless 4Gen pickups are beautiful. Vs American Standard or Professional, I bought the "elite" mainly for the neck, the noiseless pickups (I have 3Gen on my Am Dlx Strat), the locking tuners, S1 switch, and the carved body and neck heel. Initially, I thought about saving a little $$ and going with a standard then adding locking tuners, etc., but in the end, it's still not the Elite if you prefer that combination of features and body style. One piece of advice on the neck - if you're looking at the PRO vs ELITE - you need to think about the neck you want. Over the years, Fender has offered a few choices on the Teles ( C, D, C-D, Deep C) so I had to figure out which would work best for me. The C - D neck of the Elite is definitely "less chunky" than the Telecaster Pros with their deep C neck. If you haven't played them, my suggestion is to find a shop somewhere (which I did) to compare. I've talked with folks who prefer the fuller neck, but I'm not one of them. Just using physics, I'm 5'8" and don't have the hands of LeBron James. Long-term, having compared before purchasing, I personally wouldn't have been happy with the chunkier deep C neck. Maybe that's just preference, or playing style (I like to wrap my thumb like Hendrix, Mayer) but I LOVE this neck!! And the smooth satin finish is what every guitar neck should have IMO, but again, that's just preference. The tone via my Deluxe Reverb is what you would expect from Fender (strat or tele) - beautiful cleans with more tonal choices via the S1 switch. I have a feeling middle position w/ S1 engaged is going to be used a lot. Even the molded case is first class - props to Fender there. And tons of storage room for cables, etc. Sweetwater did a fabulous job as always and everything arrived as advertised, or better (well, except the color). It's not even close to red - as the pictures look - unless I'm suffering from online colorblindness and am the only one who thinks the pictures look red - but Autumn Blaze is more like a metallic burnt rust / orange, which is a VERY cool color. I'm extremely happy with the color in a "nice surprise" sort of way. Texas Longhorn fans would probably love it. So if the pics look red, maybe hold off on ordering that red strap until your guitar arrives :)

Sweetwater Advice

Fender American Elite Telecaster

Fender's American Elite Telecaster is a bold update from traditional Teles. It will appeal to guitarists in many styles, but it's especially suitable for players reared on sleek, modern, hard-rock guitars, and the slim, shapely neck will delight speed demons. The Elite isn't a tone clone of vintage models, but it compensates with extra output and mass....
