Sweetwater Advice

Andy Miller

In my decades of live performance and audio engineering, I've tried nearly every personal monitor system out there (and I'm picky!). I loved using the dbx TR1616 system at our last show because of its standalone design. I was able to use it at rehearsal without our mixer, and then soundcheck our stage mix at the show before the house mixer was even connected. The other benefit that we noticed was that the signals sent to the main mixer via 150' of snake cable were much stronger and clearer than normal due to the onboard preamps. I didn't notice any latency, and the sound quality was dynamic and clear. I highly recommend it!
