Hands-free Cajon Kick Action!

If you're building a complete percussion rig around your cajon or simply want to keep a hand free, then this Cajon Pedal from Meinl Percussion is just what you need. Just stick your cajon in the cradle mount - any standard cajon will fit - clamp it down, and you're ready to play. The pedal itself is attached via a flexible cable, which allows you to position it where you like, and when drummers here at Sweetwater got to check it out, we were impressed by how smooth the action is. You can totally adjust the Cajon Pedal's tension, too, and the soft foam beater delivers a natural-sounding strike with every note.

Meinl Percussion TMCP Cajon Pedal Features:
  • A great hands-free way to get bass sounds from your cajon
  • Soft foam beater provides a natural sound and feel
  • Cradle mount attaches firmly and keeps the beater in place
  • Cable-attached remote foot pedal offers free positioning
  • Adjustable tension ensures smooth and responsive action
Add kick to your cajon with the Meinl Cajon Pedal!

Strong Robust Piece of Equipment

First, this is not a toy or cheap lightweight pedal, rather it is thick and robust and extremely well designed. I use a DW on my regular kit, and this pedal compares to that kind of quality. It was on backorder, and now I know why this item is so popular. It was very easy to set up, but I did need to do some adjustments on the spring tensions, beater height, and beater angle just like any drummer would need to adjust their bass drum pedal. It "feels" different than a regular kick pedal because of the cable. The cable needs to transmit the movements from your foot to the beater, and this cable system with its length and design makes the "feel" different, but not problematic. After adjusting the spring on the pedal more loosely and the spring on the beater apparatus about in the middle of the tension rod, I was able to get kick pedal rolls and double strokes just like on a regular pedal. I suggest the springs should be more loose on both units because they come with thick robust springs that are pretty tight with the feel. The large diameter (2") of firm foam beater head produces an excellent sound. I adjusted the beater striking area a little lower than normal so that my hands would not hit or be in the way of the beater, yet the beater sound was still perfect. The pedal itself is mounted on a flat plate with velcro on the bottom and spiked lugs to be used on carpet, which is another thing, use this on a rug! The beater unit is also mounted on a plate with spikes that you do not need because you seat the cajon within the adjustable bracket and it does not move at all. I was really impressed by the engineering and design of this pedal, and it seems that MEINL thought it through.

Cajon Pedal Review

I was very impressed with this Meinl product. I have used a few other cajon pedals in the past and they haven't quite matched up to the quality and sound of this pedal. the hardware and cable feels robust and sturdy, the pedal is very responsive and the kick head feels really neat and the material, in my opinion replicates the soft firmness of a palm and really gives the cajon a nice smooth sound. The way the kick head mounts to the cajon itself is a great design, having the tightening bolt on the back mounted to a wide bracket spreads the load out a bit so it doesn't feel like I am going to put a second hole in my instrument. All around great product.

nice pedal

Very Very nice pedal. Very robust and heavy. I enjoy the pedal very much.

Best Major Brand Cajon Pedal

Smartest cajon pedal I've had thus far, having broken the cable on a Gibraltar and quickly returned a Dixon. The design on this seems to make it less likely to break the cable (though other reviews say it happens, and it does seem inevitable) and a little easier to transport. Requires less adjustment too. So far, so good!

Really impressed with the customer service. I received a phone call to tell me when to expect the product, and it arrived right on time. This is a gift, and I am confident in my purchase.
