All the controls on the Traktor Kontrol S4 MK2 have exactly the tactile response I look for in a control surface, and its all-metal construction feels like it can withstand any club experience. Most of all, I really dig the intuitive controls. Transitions are easy to get nice and tight, and the loop controls are powerful and simple to execute. It really feels like I'm playing an instrument as opposed to programming a piece of software.

Light and compact

Shocked at what is missing on S4!

I just picked up a Traktor S4 thinking I was upgrading from my Traktor S2.

I was shocked to find that the S4 has no Microphone button! That's right, there is no ability to turn the microphone on and off on the S4, a basic necessary function for mobile DJ. The S2 has an on/off button right on the front and a mic on/off indicator light. The S4 has neither, only an input and gain adjustment!

Sure, there are switches on wireless mics, and sure you can run through an additional mixer, but why?

I'm sure Grandma will enjoy the bachelor party details shared by the best man....
