Beyerdynamic TG D35D super cardiod

Drum Mics BEYER DYNAMIC TG D35D are small with great sound and easy to use. These TG D35D have more gain and are hotter than most mics. I am using these now instead of the bigger heaver Sure sm57,s on my drum toms, and on the snare drum for live events. The clip on mount on these mics are GREAT, very convenient, and easy to use. The mic stays in place and does not bounce around. I found some little foam wind screens that fit in addition, so I put them on these mics. They are the On-Stage ASWS58-B foam windscreen. So far I am very pleased with these and they do not break the bank. The only thing I don't know is how well they will survive a stick hit. I have never hit any of my mics in the past with my sticks so I hope I never find that out.

Get some punch!

I picked this set of mic's up to use within a drum cage at a house of worship where I am the Technical Director. I was previously using Sennheiser e604's and while they sounded OK, I wasn't completely satisfied especially since within the drum cage a lot of extraneous trapped sound was fed into those channels and gating did not work to satisfaction. I picked these up as I know Beyerdynamic to make a great product. I also picked these up because of their supercardioid pickup pattern. They solved the issue of extraneous noise. I love the sound of them as well. They achieve a deep punchy tom sound with plenty of attack. They are very lightweight due to their housing being plastic. I'm not sure how well they would hold up to the rigors of touring, but for our use case they are excellent. The clips hold the mics securely, however if you have a smaller tom with an iso type mount (we're using a DW Designer series kit), you may have to use another type of mount. For the price, these mics are well worth it so make sure you check them out!
