Great for Location Recordings

I've been using T-ES extension shafts with the T3 Tripod on location recordings, and I'm very happy with them. I've stacked 3 (!) extensions to get a stereo pair of SCD's 12' in the air. That's well beyond what Triad-Orbit officially endorses, but I've done it many times without issue. A couple notes: - If you're using the T-ES, you'll want a T3. It's heavier (more stable) than the T2, and air-cushioning is a godsend when you're going high. - If you're stacking extensions, they'll start to lean a little bit. It looks a little precarious when you get past 10', but the locking mechanism will hold tight even at 90 degrees (horizontal), so it's not going to snap off. I've tested this without stabilizer weights and the stand was solid (no rocking), but I'd recommend weighing it down just to be safe. You're not going to get a tube LDC 14' high, but SDCs and stereo bars are fine. I'm giving it a 4.5 because of the second note there, but in all fairness I'm using the T-ES way past the manufacturer's recommendations. All in all it's a great addition to the Orbit line.
