A Semi-hollowbody Stunner from Taylor!

The Taylor T3 semi-hollowbody electric guitar combines the incredible thinline body design of Taylor's T5 with a great-sounding complement of pickups and ultra-stable hardware. One strum of the T3 and you'll know this isn't your typical semi-hollow; plug it in and you'll be blown away by the tone - as well as the flexible tonal options. This stoptail version features a quilted maple top, joined to a hollow sapele body with a wood block running down the middle. The sapele neck is very comfortable, and two humbucking pickups with selectors and coil taps give you plenty of sound configurations while you're playing the T3.

Taylor T3 Semi-hollowbody Electric Guitar at a Glance:
  • The evolution of a modern Taylor classic
  • Say "wow" to the wood
  • Big tone, great flexibility

The evolution of a modern Taylor classic
The hybrid Taylor T5 wowed players with its impressive melding of acoustic and electric properties. Now, Taylor brings the body profile of the T5 to an electric guitar that more than holds its own against the classic axes. Rather than braced hollowbody design, the T3 uses a sapele body with a solid block of wood running down its center. The solid maple top is affixed to both the block and the sides without the need for additional bracing. An electric-style solid bridge and stop tailpiece takes the place of the T5's acoustic-style bridge (a Bigsby trem-equipped T3 model, the T3/B, is also available). This full-on electric semi-hollowbody completes a transition from pure acoustic to hybrid to full electric, and, in the process, gives you incredible quality, tone, playability, and comfort.

Say "wow" to the wood
Just a quick glance at the T3's figured maple top is enough to make you want to pick it up. Upon closer evaluation, you'll find that this great-looking top's depth and beautiful figure visually complement its design perfectly - while providing the perfect "snap" to add to the T3's rich tone. From the binding to the f-holes to the chrome hardware and pickup rings, the T3's accents are as note-perfect as its great sound.

Big tone, great flexibility
If you're looking for fat jazz tones from a manageable, thinline body style, you've come to the right place. The T3's two humbucking pickups provide plenty of thick tone, but that's just the beginning. You can choose between neck, neck/bridge, and bridge settings, activate a coil-tap for single-coil tones, and even engage a second capacitor for even fatter tone. This means everyone from jazz aficionados to rockers can enjoy the T3's attributes - from cool and restrained to crunchy and rude.

I am not going to leave a lengthy review but as the proud owner of several high quality solid body guitars from PRS, Music Man and Ibanez and acoustics from Breedlove, I can say that my new semi-hollow Taylor T3 ranks right there with them. It is gorgeous, versatile, well crafted, plays exceptionally well and sounds great. If you are in the market for a semi-hollow guitar, do yourself a huge favor and buy one of these gems.

It's all great

The neck is great.Came to me with good action. The finish is flawless. The pick ups are good all around. Like that the the pick ups have a quick connect to change out pick ups.Over all a great guitar!!

Really, really good!

I nicknamed my T3 "Six-Seventy" because it is twice as good as the Gibson 335 it replaced! While it doesn't exactly sound like a 335, it has great tone. Odd that these aren't more popular than they are...IMO they are better than just about any semi-hollow out there except for maybe a Collings or something like that. Fit and finish is spectacular, the flame on my particular T3 is wonderful, although most of them I've seen look great as well. Plays like a dream and has a very wide range of tones - the tone pot is especially useable and musical. You'd be hard pressed to find a more versatile semi-hollow for the money. While a bit thinner than a usually semi-hollow, it's still what I consider a bigger guitar...If Taylor made one of these the size of a 339, I'd be all over it!

my new main guitar

just bought my new t3 at gearfest. when got home played it without amp first, beautiful sustain. when pluged into amp was at first intimidated by the sustain, but after pulling a few knobs & & tweaking amp , found what I was looking for . it sounds & plays as good as it looks . neck will take a little getting used to, slightly larger than my strat.kinda wish it had a pick guard, because I don't play softly, & sometime hit guitar with pick. beautiful guitar, in everyway glsd its mine ....
