A Taylor Semi-hollowbody Electric with a Classic Vibe!

The Taylor T3/B semi-hollowbody electric guitar combines the incredible thinline body design of Taylor's T5 with a great-sounding complement of pickups and classic-style electric guitar hardware. One strum of the T3 and you'll know this isn't your typical semi-hollow; plug it in and you'll be blown away by the tone - as well as the flexible tonal options. This Bigsby trem-equipped version features a figured maple top that's joined to a hollow sapele body with a wood block running down the middle. The sapele neck is very comfortable, and two humbucking pickups with selectors and coil taps give you plenty of sound configurations while you're playing the T3/B.

Taylor T3/B Semi-hollowbody Electric Guitar at a Glance:
  • The evolution of a modern Taylor classic
  • Say "wow" to the wood
  • Big tone, great flexibility

The evolution of a modern Taylor classic
The hybrid Taylor T5 wowed players with its impressive melding of acoustic and electric properties. Now, Taylor brings the body profile of the T5 to an electric guitar that more than holds its own against the classic axes. Rather than braced hollowbody design, the T3/B uses a sapele body with a solid block of wood running down its center. The solid maple top is affixed to both the block and the sides without the need for additional bracing. A vintage-modern roller bridge and Bigsby tailpiece takes the place of the T5's acoustic-style bridge (a fixed bridge and stop tailpiece are available on the T3 model). This full-on electric semi-hollowbody completes a transition from pure acoustic to hybrid to full electric, and, in the process, gives you incredible quality, tone, playability, and comfort.

Say "wow" to the wood
Just a quick glance at the T3's figured maple top is enough to make you want to pick it up. Upon closer evaluation, you'll find that this great-looking top's depth and beautiful figure visually complement its design perfectly - while providing the perfect "snap" to add to the T3's rich tone. From the binding to the f-holes to the chrome hardware and pickup rings, the T3's accents are as note-perfect as its great sound.

Big tone, great flexibility
If you're looking for fat jazz tones from a manageable, thinline body style, you've come to the right place. The T3's two humbucking pickups provide plenty of thick tone, but that's just the beginning. You can choose between neck, neck/bridge, and bridge settings, activate a coil-tap for single-coil tones, and even engage a second capacitor for even fatter tone. This means everyone from jazz aficionados to rockers can enjoy the T3/B's attributes - from cool and restrained to crunchy and rude.

Got the best price anywhere in the country. Fast delivery, free shipping. Now the T3 plays and sounds amazing. Having a hard time putting it down to get my honey dues done but that is ok with me. Thank you to Sweetwater for this amazing Guitar. I also have got a T5 from Sweetwater a few years ago in fact it was 2010 but that one is the same plays great and sounds great everyone loves it that plays it. Haven't let anyone touch the T3 yet but maybe someday. again that's guys.

Very Nice Indeed!!!

I received my t3b last week and have spend a few hours getting used to the feel and sound. 1st off I love the craftsmanship, really is a wonderfully made instrument. The sound options are quite versatile with both humbucker and single coil sounds from the coil tap option. She handles overdrive and modulation well. The only negative I give the guitar is a bit of high end feedback when using higher gain pedals. . . note that this guitar isn't really for that but for experiments sake a bit of tone adjusting was required using a big muff. I use a stereo amp set up (fender vintage tweed and Fender Pro Tube Twin) and the combo with this guitar sounds amazing. Well pleased. . .

Pros- Quality built. Quality materials. Comfortable to play. It rests nicely, well balanced on my shoulder. The stock p'ups seem to have a wide dynamic range that is pretty balanced...somewhat hifi sounding. The Bigsby has that surf-rock tone of the 60's! And on this guitar, stays in tune much better than other guitars I've played fitted with a Bigsby. Cons- None really. Comments- I don't believe that a Bigsby-loaded, semi-hollow is for everyone. but if you're looking at 335's or a Gretsch the T3 is worth the time. I would also look into Taylor's version of the PAF style p'up as an option. I've fitted mine with those and it made all the difference.IMO, the 'vintage' pups are what I'm used to hearing. So, it keeps my rig familiar to me...if that makes sense. With the original pups I found myself fiddling with tone knobs and futzing levels...continually searching for a comfortable vibe that I just couldn't quite reach. Until I tried Taylor's vintage pups.

I like My T3/B

I just received my Taylor T3/B that I ordered from Sweetwater and it is nothing but thumbs up! First of all I purchased it after the "price drop" and the price was fantastic for this guitar. Second the guitar was well built and is beautiful to look at - plus I love the snap of the ebony fretboard. Thirdly, this guitar can go from light jazzy riffs, to twangy country tones right through to crunchy rock rythyms and leads. What is so very versatile is the fact that you can split the humbucker pick-ups with the push pull volume/tone knobs. Quality, fit and finish are top notch and the set up/action was fairly good. For the price this purchase was a no brainer.

Taylor T3

Bought my T3 about 9 months ago. This is my first electric guitar, previously only owned acoustic electric guitars. It is a great looking guitar and excellent craftsmenship. Out of the box I was getting a lot of fret buzz and the G & D string going out of tune. Ended up changing from light gage string to medium gage, adjusting the truss rod and raising the bridge. I installed a zero glide nut and used Big Bends nut sauce which took care of th going out of tune issue. The zero nut really does brighten up open chords. The action ended up being higher than I would have preferred but I did get use to it. Great sounding and plenty of set up options with the switches and knobs. Overall very happy with my purchase.
