Taylor T3/B Semi-hollowbody Electric Guitar with Bigsby - Honey Sunburst Reviews

Semi-hollowbody Electric Guitar with Maple Top, Sapele Back and Sides, Sapele Neck, Ebony Fingerboard, and 2 Humbucking Pickups - Honey Sunburst

The Taylor T3/B semi-hollowbody electric guitar combines the incredible thinline body design of Taylor's T5 with a great-sounding complement of pickups and classic-style electric guitar hardware. One strum of the T3 and you'll know this isn't your typical semi-hollow; plug it in and you'll be blown away by the tone - as well as the flexible tonal options. This Bigsby trem-equipped version features a figured maple top that's joined to a hollow sapele body with a wood block running down the middle. The sapele neck is very comfortable, and two humbucking pickups with selectors and coil taps give you plenty of sound configurations while you're playing the T3/B.

AWESOME Guitar

By Walt Gillette from Maryland on February 9, 2017 Music Background: Guitarist and Drummer with Jericho Road Project

This is by far the "BEST" Semi-Hollow for the money with "Quality" and Playability. I am absolutely happy with this guitar. AJ Becerra once again makes things all good! His knowledge and guidance has helped me make this guitar a part of my collection! This is the 4th Taylor for me (110 Dreadnought, 312ce, 914ce, and now the T-3/B) and I am a total Taylor guitar geek!! I own several Gibson's and American Fender's and the Taylors are my go to guitar. If you want a Semi-Hollow and don't want to spend $ for a Gibson 335, this is the guitar for you! Quality, beauty, and playability own this guitar by Taylor!

On the 16th of June had hernia surgery. Although i bought the T3/B earlier, just been too busy and worried about surgery. Gladly, I can only applaud all that took part (Jesus first) in my operation of success). Im forever grateful to Jesus for good health. Yet, you all at Sweetwater have helped make a longtime dream a reality. These now two guitars is a start. Gotta wait some before ever purchasing yet wont forget u all. Practicing more and enjoying the success since 1988 when i bought my first guitar. Im forever grateful. Determined to join the church with either guitar and jam. Course the ultimate band the Eagles look out. Loving those tunes. Thanks.

Excellent! I am very pleased,

I am so grateful I felt I could afford a real guitar. A real blessing. My friend who introduced me to Sweetwater bought a fender, which I might consider sometime ahead. I know i was asked about need of other pieces to fullfill my gameplan yet Wayne after his fender purchase may have bought possibly and probably did buy the strap and strings yet I thought after a 1625.00 purchase hey what is a 50 dollar strap to Sweetwater. You see im not a known rocker or a man of great wealth yet Im blessed by Jesus Christ with needs met. This purchase isnt a yearly purchase i do never. Well I did purchase a 50 dollar strap anyway. Yet! Really Sweetwater it is about a buck? That is what is wrong with this country we call free. Jesus said money is the root of all evil. No one dares pay any attention to Jesus who gave all and allows mistakes by each of us daily. When we all die one day, our money we made here on earth buys nothing in heaven. I will sacrifice the payment yet will pay off item by July 2014. See I owe what I owe and the sacrifice I pay for. Im pleased, and will consider another in years ahead, Thanks Bryan

Awesome guitar

By Rick C from South Florida on September 27, 2011 Music Background: long time hobbyist

I love this guitar. It's looks fantastic and plays even better than it looks. The push/pull switches that make the humbuckers single coil pickups give me a much wider range of sound, and the way the Bigsby tremelo is set up with rollers on the bridge keep it in tune after banging and yanking on it for hours on end.

First blush

By Michael from Port Townsend WA on July 23, 2010 Music Background: Long time finger style player.

I was with my wife visiting her brother. He has an older Ibanez hollow body that he wanted help re-stinging (i've never seen strings that old). After helping with the new strings, I played for a few minutes. I was playing though a Line-6 pedal, and a Crate amp (not the cleanest sound). My wife was thrilled to hear me playing with an electric voice though (I have been a strict acoustic player for the past 20 years). She hadn't heard anything from this phase of my music.

My wife is great! This needs to be mentioned.

She thought I should research and buy an Electric guitar! My Response? Awh... Do I have to?

A credit card number and a couple weeks later my new T3-B shows up.

It's a very handsome guitar. It plays very well. It's a bit heavier than expected, but the voice is where it shines. The number of possible tone variations is what dew me to this guitar. I played it for about two hours yesterday through my Mackie board and monitors. It's sound is hard to pin down. It's like having every electric guitar you ever wanted in one instrument.

The one thing that bugs me about this guitar is that the top isn't solid. It's a veneer over fiber board. I would think that in this price range you should get a solid top. I know why they are doing it. The fiber board is dead flat so it's easy to veneer. It's also stable in the way that quilted maple isn't.

All in all.. I'm happy so far. I will post again in a couple months with more of a players review.
