MXR Super Comp

This pedal is one of those pedals that should get more praise and recognition that it does. The MXR Super Comp does two things really well, it gives you great sustain and flavors your sound by adding more gain if you chose to. Great pedal I run it in the front of my chain and it works amazing.

Old Reliable

I have owned the MXR Super Compressor for almost 10 years and haven't had any problems with it while using it on my bass. I can dial in great tone with it on any rig while my expensive rack mount compressor/limiter keeps malfunctioning. The MXR continues to be reliable in my effects lineup. Great for beginners as well as advanced players on-stage or in rehearsal. I am sure this would still be a great compressor even without the attack level knob.

Great, set and forget

Not expensive, not complicated, works great on bass

Simple and Easy to Use

Not much to say other than it works. I use it to keep my clean channel picking clean and articulate. MXR products are built to last for generations!

Very good compressor

I've owned this for several years and barely used it, using my Toadworks Mr. Squishy instead, and then not that often. But the Squishy has started acting up and I need to get some compression into my current rig so broke this one out of storage. I don't know why I never bonded with this pedal. It really is a nice compressor. It has tons of output, so can be used as a clean boost. But mostly, it offers up some fatness and nice squish and has a broad range. It is not too noisy, and the attack control is very useful. The bypassed tone is fine. I need to play with it more to mesh with distortion and overdrive, but for my clean tones, this rules.

I love the MXR Supercomp. It's nice and squishy if you need it to be, but I also use it as a gain boost on my lead channel. It hits my preamp harder and gives me the saturation that I need, when I need it. It also sounds great on clean channels
