EVH Stripe Series

Absolutely an amazing Guitar! I bought the Black w/Yellow first and had to get the white one. Fixing to get the red one now!

Amazing guitar

I received this guitar back in mid September from Sweetwater and it is awesome. The Floyd Rose is the 1000 series, not the cheaper "special". One thing I recommend, if you aren't happy with the Wolfgang pickup, raise the pole pieces to about 1/16" from the strings when fretted at the top fret, mine came about 1/8" away. It made a HUGE difference and the guitar really screams. The neck is great, I love that it's unfinished. The fretwork is very well done on these guitars. My friend bought the black and yellow one and his guitar tech that does fret work couldn't believe how well done the fret work was on this guitar. Don't let the inexpensive price fool you, this is not a cheaply made guitar. Everything is top notch on it. In addition to raising the pole pieces, I also added a third spring to the back and changed the strings from 9s to 10s. All of these changes really made a difference in both the tone and sustain of the guitar. If you are considering one of these, you will not be disappointed. And, it just looks cool! Thanks to AJ, my sound engineer at Sweetwater!

EVH Striped Series - Black and White

This is my new main guitar. It looks Awesome love the sound. It's factory set up was fair. A little bit of tweaking it works really well. I really like the amount of "Tone" change withe the volume knob.I would love to get a second one in a different color. Black& Yellow maybe?

this thing rips!!

Don't let the single pickup \ no tone control fool you, this guitar is fairly flexible and covers a pretty wide range of tones. The volume pot is amazing and cleans the signal up very nicely (when volume is lowered) When the volume knob is on 10, it flat out rips. Neck is comfy, almost a 'D' shape, frets are medium\big and they're finished nicely.

Black n White

With minimal bridge adjustment I got a decent action to start with. The sound and sustain without an amp is exceptional for the cost. The Humbucker has an excellent sound and sustain either clean or distorted. The neck and fret job are good. I can make my way around scales quickly and chords sound full, with near zero fret buzz!!The finish on both neck and body are top notchNow the cons:You can't replace pickup without heavy routing modification. However, since it takes standard size pickup, you can transfer say a Seymour Duncan to the baseplate. Which I did.The pickup needs a shim of sorts to get the height closer to the stringsI had to install a capacitor at the volume pot for treble bypass when turning down.I had to block tremolo for it to sit flat with the body.Back to pickups, you have to router/chisel for Fender bridge spacing. All in all the guitar sounds very nice, although heavy modding is necessary if you demand certain specifications.
