  • Synchronized Tremolo with high mass bridge block
  • Three standard, single-coil Strat pickups
Lightweight alder body with gorgeous figured maple top

The Fender Standard Stratocaster Plus Top features a lightweight, comfort-contoured alder body which has actually changed very little since the first Strats rolled off the production lines in 1954. However, this new version actually has shielded body cavities for reduced hum and quieter operation than you'd get with a vintage Strat. And something else you won't find on a vintage Strat: a luscious figured maple top that not only looks drop-dead gorgeous, it actually enhances the tone, adding snap and sustain to your notes.

Synchronized Tremolo with high mass bridge block

While there's no denying the fact that Leo Fender's guitar designs were an amazing blend of art and engineering, it was the erroneously named synchronized tremolo (it's actually a vibrato) that may well have been his most inspired bit of engineering. With it you could bend notes or even entire chords up or down without throwing the guitar out of tune. Even though Fender has continued to improve upon the tremolo, many players simply prefer the look and feel of the original. The Standard Stratocaster Plus Top comes with that vintage-style trem but adds a high mass bridge block for improved sustain and tone.

Three standard, single-coil Strat pickups

The Stratocaster was the first production line guitar with three pickups, and it's no surprise that this basic configuration is just as popular today as it was in 1954. So your new Standard Stratocaster comes from the factory with three standard Strat single-coil pickups with vintage style ceramic magnets. Way back in the 1950s and '60s, players had to carefully fiddle with their 3-position blade switch to get those "in between" pickup combinations. Don't worry. Your Strat comes with a modern 5-way blade switch for instant access to all the cool Strat tones.

Fender Standard Stratocaster Plus Top Solidbody Electric Guitar Features:

  • Comfort-contoured alder body with figured maple top

  • Modern C-shape maple neck with 9.5"-radius maple fingerboard and 21 medium-jumbo frets
  • 3 standard single-coil Strat pickups
  • Pickup switching: 5-position blade
  • Vintage-style Synchronized Tremolo bridge/tailpiece
  • 3-ply parchment pickguard; parchment control knobs
Fender's Standard Strat Plus Top is the ideal Strat for modern players!

This Guitar made me a Strat guy

Beautiful flamed top, great paint scheme, stays in tune even with moderate vibrato bar use. Has a modern sound but the bottom end gets muddy at higher gain settings. I may be able to figure out a way to improve that without modifying the guitar. This was my first guitar with a maple fretboard and I love it. Playability wise it's incredible.

Fender Plus Top Standard

I could not be happier with this guitar! It most definitely exceeded my expectations. I've been doing a lot of research on Fender strats over the last few months and had originally decided that my best option might be to buy a used one; considering this would be my first Fender(I've spent the last 20 years playing Gibsons and Epiphones). I'm glad that the eye appeal of this particular guitar, and the history of the great service that I have gotten from Sweetwater, changed my mind. The neck is more comfortable than what I thought I was used to. It fits my playing style better. Mine leans a lot more towards rhythm than lead. Chords are incredibly easy to fret, but the neck is fast, so great solos are not out of the question. Another thing I love about this guitar is that it feels very balanced. It is comfortable to play sitting down, standing up, or lying on your back(yeah, I tried it! lol) This guitar MAKES ME WANT TO PLAY IT! And that's what you want a guitar to do. Otherwise, play the radio! Yet, before I end my review, I can not possibly give enough thanks to the team at Sweetwater. Especially my sales rep Tom Maxwell, who takes the time to make sure that I am getting what I want, and always makes sure that I am happy with my purchase after I receive it. I would also like to thank the Techs that set my guitar up. Not only was the setup great, but it was almost still in tune when I received it! Thanks!

Good Looking Great Sounding Stratocaster!

I Just Got This Really Nice Standard Stratocaster Plus Top Fender Guitar And I Can't Put It Down. It Sounds Fantastic Thru My Fender Tube Amp. And The Neck Is The Best That I've Ever Felt On A Strat Since The One I Played Back In 1988. It's Got The Rosewood Fingerboard On it. But Don't Be Fooled It Plays Great And Sounds Fantastic. This Is Made In Mexico And They Have Improved The Neck And Pickups On It. Wait Till You Play It! I'm So Happy I Got This.

Astounding quality

Went to check out some guitars with my nephew (his first electric guitar) at our local guitar store and we saw the Fender plus top strat. I've always been a Fender man but I Had never played a mexican fender before but this one caught our eye. Was very impressed with the craftsmanship and so we took it down to play it. From the moment I put my fingers to the fretboard I knew this was an awesome guitar playability is right up there with much higher fenders and the build quality is top notch my nephew bought this guitar and I'm planning an adding one to my stable of guitars. Well Done Fender!!!!
