Excellent Sounding & Playing Strat!
I've had this strat for about a month now. It's currently strat #4 and I think it's the 6th I've ever owned.
If I had to compared this strat to another model, I suppose I'd say it's like a '62 RI. Old school looking headstock and logo, RW fretboard with a C shape, truss adjustment at the heel, and 3 tone SB finish. Vintage trem and tuners, 21 frets. It has a very vintage feel to it, except the medium jumbo's, the 5-way switch, and the modern radius. It came setup very well from the factory, save the blocked trem. I floated it right away.
Anyway, it plays just like you'd expect to for an instrument of this expense and quality. Fret dressings and edges are pretty good. Finish looks very nice.
However, I think the most noteworthy feature of this axe is its pickups. They're very glassy and shimmery but it's not shrill either. It's got great quack in positions 2 & 4 and the bridge pickup isn't overly obnoxious like some strats are. Note that Tone #2 is wired to the Br and Mid pickups. My bottom line is that this thing sounds just like a classic strat is supposed to.
As for the deal, it's hard for me to say that this strat is worth it's price tag. However, when I compare it to the other strats that are out there for this price, I think it far exceeds them. I guess I'm saying that compared to the other strats in this price range new, it's got to by far be my favorite. I'm not sure that it's a bargain, but if you're looking for a strat and can afford this one, you need to check one out.
