A Highly-coveted 1957 Classic!

No need for a magic DeLorean, this Fender Custom Shop 1957 Time Machine Relic Stratocaster solidbody electric guitar will take you straight back to a pivotal year in Strat history. Featuring a deep-contoured, heavily-relic'd alder body, this phenomenal solidbody electric guitar provides you with classic sparkling Strat tones, thanks to three hand-wound '50s Stratocaster single-coil pickups, along with the modern versatility of a reverse wound/reverse polarity middle pickup and 5-way switching. When we first learned about this classic-styled Strat at Sweetwater, we were quite smitten with its ultra-comfortable quartersawn maple neck with a '57 "soft V" profile. This Fender Custom Shop 1957 Time Machine Relic Stratocaster is a truly stunning solidbody electric guitar.

Fender Custom Shop 1957 Time Machine Relic Stratocaster Solidbody Electric Guitar at a Glance:
  • '50s Stratocaster single-coil pickups provide classic Strat tone
  • Quartersawn neck gives you ultra-stability and ultra-playability
  • Relic finish and hardware for vintage vibe
'50s Stratocaster single-coil pickups provide classic Strat tone

Bell-like, jangly, smooth, and bluesy - ask any seasoned Strat player at Sweetwater, and you'll get slightly different descriptions as to what this iconic guitar is supposed to sound like. Words alone can't capture the sound, but the '50s single-coil Stratocaster pickups that Fender designed for this solidbody electric guitar certainly can. In fact, the only places the Fender Custom Shop went off-book with this 1957 Time Machine Relic Stratocaster were its reverse wound/reverse polarity middle pickup and the 5-way blade pickup selector they installed to give you access to those in-between tones early Strat players discovered by accident.

Quartersawn neck gives you ultra-stability and ultra-playability

The neck is one of the most important aspects of any instrument, which is why this Fender Custom Shop 1957 Time Machine Relic Stratocaster solidbody electric guitar features a quartersawn maple neck. Besides looking good, the straight grain of quartersawn necks is about 50% more stable than plain-sawn necks, and less likely to warp, twist or shrink. You'll also love the playability and feel of this 1957 Time Machine Relic Stratocaster's contoured heel when you're playing higher up the fretboard. Down low, your fretting hand will appreciate the 9.5" radius that keeps things nice and comfortable for natural, relaxed arpeggio work.

Relic finish and hardware for vintage vibe

As you can imagine, a true 1957 Strat would show signs of wear and tear, and this Fender Custom Shop 1957 Time Machine Relic Stratocaster solidbody electric guitar is finished to represent those years of playing. The worn finish on the body and neck, and the aged and slightly rusty hardware will make you wonder if it really isn't a true vintage guitar. Collectors in the know will tell you that it was in 1957 that the Stratocaster was honed and perfected into the form we know and love today, and this 1957 Time Machine Relic Stratocaster is sure to please even the pickiest of guitar lovers.

Fender Custom Shop 1957 Time Machine Relic Stratocaster Solidbody Electric Guitar Features:
  • Fender Custom Shop Heavy Relic laquer finish
  • Fender's classic '57 "soft V" neck profile with small headstock serves up outstanding feel
  • 9.5" radius and 6105 (medium jumbo) frets let you bend up high without fretting out
  • '50s single-coil Stratocaster pickups provide classic Strat tone
  • Reverse wound/reverse polarity middle pickup and modern 5-way switch wiring
  • Tweed hardshell case with gold interior included
This Fender Custom Shop 1957 Time Machine Relic Stratocaster is the real deal for vintage Strat fans!

One FIne Guitar

Bought this guitar about 2 weeks ago. I spent a lot of time trying it out to get a real feel for it. Brian Lemert spent a lot of time helping me with the purchase ( he even stayed late). It started when I called to ask him about it and he said he would try it out and let me know if it was worth the trip. He called me back about a half and hour later and said " You need to come try this". Oh Boy was he right. what a great guitar. Fantastic neck with an incredibly comfortable neck. Reasonably light but with an incredible amount of resonance and sustain. No matter what style of music I throw at it the guitar just shines. I haven't gotten a bad sound out of it yet ( and that is saying something for me) Played though a Marshall 1973x or my Reeves Custom Jimmy ( basically a 1970's Hiwatt) the sounfd is musical and magical. Do yourself a favor spend a little extra and move up to this. You won't be unhappy that you did. Thank you Brian Lemert and Sweetwater.
