Timeless Style Updated for the 21st Century

Over a dozen new innovations, such as fourth-generation noiseless pickups and high-mass, full-sustain saddles, conspire to make the American Elite Stratocaster one of the best modern Strats for the money. The classic tone cocktail of an ash body and maple neck provides the same punch, bite, and twang that built Fender's empire, but the expanded 10-way S-1 pickup switching system and comfortable compound-radius neck will give even veteran Strat players reason to upgrade. Fender's tremolo system is also better than ever for the American Elite, with a smoother response and a copper-infused bridge plate to help fight tuning slippage.

  • No-slip tremolo bridge adds texture to chords and leads
Fender Stratocaster: the look and sound of rock 'n' roll

The Fender Stratocaster has helped shape the sound of rock 'n' roll for the past 60 years, from psychedelia and surf rock to punk rock and metal. The Fender American Elite carries on that tradition today with the classic build players love - a comfortable, lightweight ash body and fast maple neck for superior tone and playability - with over a dozen new innovations to continue to inspire great music for the next generation.

Fourth-generation Fender noiseless pickups with S-1 switching

Fourth-generation noiseless pickups give the American Elite the classic Strat sound without the hum and buzz. And for exciting tonal options, the American Elite's S-1 switching gives you 10 total pickup options - which include running all three in series - with the push of a button. Sweetwater Strat purists appreciate that Fender built the S-1 switch discreetly into the volume knob for an unmodded, timeless look.

No-slip tremolo bridge adds texture to chords and leads

The quintessential Fender tremolo is now even better. The American Elite moves from shimmery chords to distinct vibrato and beyond with a natural response that won't strain your hand. You can dive-bomb confidently thanks to a set of locking tuners on one end and a high-mass, copper-infused bridge plate on the other to help fight tuning slippage.

  • Fender noiseless single-coil pickups (4th generation)
  • S-1 switch provides 10 pickup options for exciting new tones
  • Select ash body for light weight and a punchy, balanced sound

Second to none

My review my be more about the customer service I received from Michael Morgan more so than the guitar, which is absolutely gorgeous. I originally purchased an American Pro Strat. I had base my decision on a guitar I played at one of the local music stores. The guitar was marked as an American Pro, but it was actually an American Standard with the mod C neck which felt really good. I was trying out a couple of amps that Michael had recommended at another music store using an American Pro. That was when I noticed the difference in the neck profiles, but did not think much about it because the sales guy said it was probably the guitar itself. To cut this story short, I purchased the American Pro and had it for a few days and realized that I just was not in love with it. My hands are to small for the deep c neck. I called Michael and he immediately said to return it because it was important to get something that you want to play. This was even if I had to buy it some where else. He was more concerned that I was happy instead of worrying about making a sale. I went to another music store and tried the American Elite and was very happy I did. Sent the American Pro back and ordered the Elite which arrived in two days. The guitar is awesome and so was the service I got from Michael. I have been telling everyone to buy from Sweetwater, Customer service is second to none!

Amazing strat!

I have many strat's over the 40 years of playing I have done. My last strat purchased was the 2013 custom discontinued. This guitar by far has been one of the best strat's I have owned and played. The redesign of the bridge is huge as it's the first strat out of the box that actually consistently stays in tune for me. I couldn't be happier with my purchase. I love the floating bridge, the lower set tuner posts, the action, and the integration of the Music Man truss wheel. I own an Axis which is probably one of my most favorite guitars but I have always been partial to Fender.I am absolutely happy with my purchase and it plays way better than my older Fender's. the extra phasing of the pickups is cool but I doubt I will use it much as the standard 5 way I appreciate more. The new 4th gen noiseless pickups sound amazing as well. This is essential as a worship musician with single coils especially.

Fender strat.

The guitar is everything I thought it would be. Thank you for all your help.

Unbelievable Guitar

This guitar was everything that was promised, the guitar gallery photos were incredibly detailed. The sound is amazing, and the added S-1 switch creates some extra flexibility on the classic strat tones. The contoured C-D neck really makes this guitar easy to play, allows for a smooth transition from one end to the other. I absolutely love the Aged Cherry finish, really is beautiful. Sweetwater sales engineers were awesome, answering any question that i could dream up and was also quick to respond to inquires. Definitely will continue to purchase from Sweetwater in the future.
