Timeless Style Updated for the 21st Century

Over a dozen new innovations, like fourth-generation noiseless pickups and high-mass, full-sustain saddles, conspire to make the American Elite Stratocaster one of the best modern Strats for the money. The classic tone cocktail of an alder body and maple neck provides the same punch, bite, and twang that built Fender's empire, but the expanded 10-way S-1 pickup switching system and onboard Shawbucker humbucker with Passing Lane boost will give even veteran Strat players reason to upgrade. Fender's tremolo system is also better than ever for the American Elite, with a smoother response and a copper-infused bridge plate to help fight tuning slippage.

Fender American Elite Stratocaster HSS Electric Guitar at a Glance:
  • Fender Stratocaster: the look and sound of rock 'n' roll
  • Two noiseless single-coils plus a Shawbucker humbucker for versatile tone options
  • No-slip tremolo bridge adds texture to chords and leads
Fender Stratocaster: the look and sound of rock 'n' roll

The Fender Stratocaster has helped shape the sound of rock 'n' roll for the past 60 years, from psychedelia and surf rock to punk rock and metal. The Fender American Elite carries on that tradition today with the classic build players love - a comfortable, lightweight alder body and fast maple neck for superior tone and playability - with over a dozen new innovations to continue to inspire great music for the next generation.

Two noiseless single-coils plus a Shawbucker humbucker for versatile tone options

Sweetwater Fender fanatics are impressed with the arsenal of tones found in this Strat. Fourth-generation noiseless single-coils give the American Elite the classic Strat sound without the hum and buzz. And for a gutsier tone, the onboard Shawbucker bridge humbucker, created by Fender pickup guru Tim Shaw, delivers vintage-inspired heft and thickness. The American Elite's S-1 switching gives you 10 total pickup options - which include running all three pickups in series - with the push of a button. And when you need a boost, a Passing Lane button near the tone pot connects the Shawbucker directly to the output jack for mind-melting leads.

No-slip tremolo bridge adds texture to chords and leads

The quintessential Fender tremolo is now even better. The American Elite moves from shimmery chords to distinct vibrato and beyond with a natural response that won't strain your hand. You can dive-bomb confidently thanks to a set of locking tuners on one end and a high-mass, copper-infused bridge plate on the other to help fight tuning slippage.

Fender American Elite Stratocaster HSS Electric Guitar Features:
  • Fender noiseless single-coil pickups (4th generation) in neck and middle positions
  • Shawbucker bridge humbucker delivers vintage-styled beefiness
  • S-1 switching provides 10 pickup options for exciting new tones

Awesome Guitar!!

This is the smoothest guitar I have ever played! So many tones options. The noiseless pickups are freaking awesome!! Great tone minus the noise!! Looking forward to doing some recording with this guitar! Sweetwater did a great job setting it up ready to play out of the box.

Autumn Blaze Elite

Im Glad I purchased the Autumn Blaze Fender Elite, I've been through a lot of guitars so far, I've had Gibson's, Tom Anderson, Suhr, Ernie Ball, to many to list, I've tried Fender Custom Shop, had special additions, reissues, each one had resonance, tonal character, basswood, Alda, Mahogany, ash, rosewood, the list goes on, I've tried many Fender Strats, and been disappointed, I am pleased to say that Fender are doing something very right with the Elite, no hum cleaner single coils,An excellent Humbucker, lots of versatility, comfortable playing, resonance, they must be using good wood, as well as parts tuning stability, great tone , just an alround good players instrument, Also the staff at Sweetwater are very patient, friendly, Knowledgeable, players themselves, Very happy buying experience, all in all this Strat is a very nice players guitar, the perfect tool for making music. Nice looking guitar too!!!.

Fender Elite Stratocaster

So for any Guitar nuts out there, this is my review of the Fender Elite Stratocaster… so far. I'll start off with the top, at the head stock. The most notable change here is the shortened locking tuners that increase the neck angle and make for easier stinging of your guitar. As for the increased angle, I take on Fenders word that it improves the play-ability of the guitar. Interestingly they did away with the roller nut. By increasing the neck angle with the shortened posts, it allows them to use a regular synthetic bone nut and still achieve the desired results of a roller nut without having to worry about bearings coming out. Another noticeable change for the Elite series is the truss rod. Rather than an allen key adjustment hole at the top, they have a new truss rod wheel at the base of the neck under the 22nd fret, this makes relief adjustments a snap. Usually I have a professional do those adjustments for me, but this will certainly make it easier. It's probably also the most visually noticeable difference on the Elite series guitars. Next is the Neck itself. For the Elite series only, they have a new compound neck that goes from a modern "C" shape at the top of the neck to "D" shape at the bottom with the contoured heel for easier access to the bottom frets (which by the way are the jumbo frets). This is really cool. It's not something I could immediately notice, but when you stop to think about it and really get in on the lower frets, it is a nice feature along with the cut away sculpted heel. I wouldn't say it makes or breaks the guitar, but I do like it and it give's and Elite player bragging rights! Next I'll go to the thing I liked most and where this guitar really shines; the pickups. I got the HSS Elite Stratocaster with the Shawbucker Humbucker. The Shawbucker is absolutely amazing! It is the best humbucker I have ever heard. It has a rich creamy sound that gives a perfect mix of the highs and lows and blends them together for the perfect humbucking sound experience ever. Not to rag on the Gibson, Les Paul's, but their humbuckers are always too "dark" for my taste. This Shawbucker gives you that thick dark tone with just enough brightness and clarity to take your lead to the next level. Basically, you get that humbucker sound you want in the bridge position with that wonderful Fender tone and brightness. Now as awesome as the Shawbucker is, the new 4th generation Noiseless pickups are absolutely amazing! Every time a noiseless pickup has come out in the past; you always end up losing something. If you eliminate the 60 Hz hum, you would end up sacrificing some of the tone. Most people have just becomes so use to it and accepted it as part of the single coil pickup experience. This time Fender has cracked the Code! Only on the Elite series Stratocaster do you get the new noiseless pickups. These pickups have that fat Fender tone guitarists crave with virtually no hum! I had no idea how accustom I had become to that hum, it blew me away as switched from one pickup position to another and there was no noise at all, but all of the great fender tone! These pickups alone really take the guitar to the next level. Neck and other features aside, the pickups are the "heart" of the guitar and these don't disappoint. Coupled with the S-1 switch and passing lane button, the HSS Fender Elite Stratocaster has so many tonal options available it should keep any player happy for years to come. The "soft touch" knobs are nice. They do make it easier to adjust with a "soft" touch. It's not a deal breaker, but it's a nice feature that will likely stay with future Elite models. Over all, the HSS Fender Elite Stratocaster exceeded my expectations. I don't like laying down thousands of dollars for an instrument. All too often when you do, you may be happy to have a quality instrument, but often wonder why it costs so much. That's the primary reason I have stuck with my '98 American Standard Stratocaster for so long. It's such an amazing instrument and I could never find a guitar in its price range (or above) that would come close to the sound I get from it… until now. I can honestly say this new guitar is worth every penny. The cost difference between and American Standard and the Elite series is not that much either. I realize that the average person probably doesn't see much of a difference between a 1956 Stratocaster and a modern Stratocaster; but believe me they are different. Go with the Elite. HSS or SSS. You will be happy you did!... Unless you’re a Fender "purest", then you'll probably hate it. But for the modern player, you're getting a custom quality Strat for a third of the price.
