1959 Was a Special Year for the Strat...

With your hands on the Fender American Vintage '59 Stratocaster solidbody electric guitar, you'll understand why 1959 was such a special year for the iconic Strat. Fender based the American Vintage Series on actual vintage guitars from their past to bring you a period-correct '59 Strat that plays like a modern classic. The American Vintage '59 Stratocaster is built just like a 1959 original: you get an alder body, a slim-profile D-shaped maple neck, a rosewood fingerboard, and vintage-style appointments throughout. And with a trio of specially voiced American Vintage '59 Strat single-coil pickups, your favorite amplifier will love the Fender American Vintage '59 Stratocaster as much as you do.

American Vintage Series means period-accurate details

Fender spared no expense in creating the American Vintage Series, and you'll see it in the American Vintage '59 Stratocaster. To make it as vintage accurate as possible, Fender restored original tooling dies, voiced new pickups, and even reformulated vintage finishes based on actual vintage examples. The result is a guitar that not only looks accurate - but it also feels like you're playing a well-worn-in classic that's been waiting to be rediscovered.

Why 1959?

Fender chose to include 1959 models in their American Vintage Series because it was an especially innovative year for the Stratocaster. By the end of the year, Fender had experimented with slimmer necks, rosewood fretboards, and multiply laminated pickguards. This American Vintage '59 Strat boasts all of these, making it a perfect reproduction of a late-'59 Strat.

Vintage-style pickups provide classic tone

Fender wouldn't rest until the American Vintage '59 Stratocaster sounded as vintage as it looked, so they got to work developing a special set of pickups specifically for the American Vintage Series. This Strat packs a trio of American Vintage '59 Strat single-coil pickups, specially wound to period-correct specs and tone. You get the same tonal versatility that made the Strat the legend it is today.

Fender American Vintage '59 Stratocaster Solidbody Electric Guitar Features:
  • American Vintage Series Stratocaster that's based on the design of original 1959 Strats
  • Vintage-style Flash Coat Lacquer finish is thinner than modern finishes, allowing the alder body to breathe and enhance tonally as it ages
  • Slim-profile D-shaped neck plays fast and is true to 1959-style Strats
  • 3 specially voiced American Vintage '59 Strat single-coil pickups are wound to match the sound and specs of original '50s pickups
  • Aged plastic knobs and switch caps complete the vintage look
  • Comes with Vintage '59 Strat strap, cable, cloth, vintage 3-position switch, '50s Strat information kit, bridge cover, owner's manual, and saddle height wrench

Definitely a keeper!!

I purchased a demo version of this one. I was particularly interested in the Sherwood Finish. This one was destined for me! When it arrived, after the usual acclimation period, my son and I opened it up and were blown away by the overall look. The neck was perfect. The fretboard looked broken in just like it's supposed to. I loved the small details Fender put into this one, to make it such a vintage beauty. The pickups sound amazing! I have several other strats and this is by far my new favorite! I like the 3-ply mint green pick guard. It goes very well with the color of the guitar. The case is perfect. The accessories that came with it were great! Sweetwater was great with the transaction. They even sent me a nice new set of strings with my new perfectly setup instrument. It's not a genuine 59'Fender, but also I don't have to sell off my house to get the real deal! I have no regrets buying it and look forward to many years with this one!

Timeless. Priceless. Yours to have!

this piece of american history will change your life. can't put a price on that.. even though they did. 2,300 pieces of paper. just a few extra hours at work and you can own a life changing part of american art history. I've always loved guitars, but once blessed with this masterpiece i realized this guitar loved me :) just hold it, she will do everything else for you. like walking the dog, just hold the leash...

I have owned 5 strats and 3 les pauls. this guitar has taught me more than any other instrument. It is the finest instrument I have ever laid my hands on. there is something about it that opens doors that I did not know were there. Stratocasters are one of those things that are far greater than the sum of their parts and this one ( to me) is the most stratish strat I have ever heard. The sound of this guitar is exactly what a strat should sound like.It is more sensitive and responsive than any guitar I know of.Yes, lots of superlatives in this review, but its appropriate. It is kind of spendy, I bought a blemished one because I don't care what it looks like and saved $700.Only buy this if you really want that iconic stratocaster sound, it delivers

Matt Kreager was a great help and does his job well! As for the guitar I consider myself very fortunate to have this guitar, it is awesome in every way. It is my job now to make it sing!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sexy Guitar

Really beautiful, well-made guitar. love the vintage frets. The only thing Fender missed was the tremolo. Seems to me they should have done the vintage 5-spring tremolo setup on this. Now I'm going to have to do it myself.
