I Play This More Than My Custom Shop
I've been picking this one up more than my Custom Shop 69 Relic. I prefer the more familiar tone of the American Vintage. The neck is very comfortable but it took me a while to get used to . The fingerboard is more rounded, the frets smaller - but now that I've become acclimated, I love the feel of this neck. It's just big enough. I also love how the fingerboard is already showing some signs of wear. I've been gigging and rehearsing with this guitar and it's held up well. I had to tighten the trem block a little after 30-40 hours of play time but that's normal enough for a new guitar. It sits wonderfully in the mix. The Custom Shop guitars tend to have really strong attributes - one is very bell-like, the other is very mid-rangey, etc., The American Vintage is just a good solid Strat sound. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
