Killer electronics for super-punchy bass sound

From the very first time you plug in your Ernie Ball Music Man StingRay 5 H, you'll appreciate the phenomenal low-end punch its lone soapbar-style humbucking pickup delivers. Granted, the extra-stout pole pieces and wide windings provided by this alnico pickup contribute a solid basis for your tone, but its the StingRay 5 H's active preamp and 3-band EQ really that let you sculpt your sound. On top of that, the StingRay 5 H features a special 3-position switch that lets you choose from series-humbucking, single-coil, or parallel-humbucking modes for and even wider tonal palette.

Extra-beefy yet totally playable neck feels amazing

There's simply no substitute for a great neck. Ernie Ball Music Man put a ton of work into developing a neck that would provide you with the perfect balance of comfort, speed, and stability. The StingRay 5 H's 1-3/4" nut gives you plenty of room to play and the 11" radius fingerboard gives you excellent string-to-string separation. Finished with gunstock oil and a hand-rubbed special wax blend, the back of the StingRay 5 H's neck feels amazing and lets you hand glide along effortlessly. And with its 6-bolt attachment, this bolt-on neck delivers stability that easily surpasses most set necks.

Loaded with StingRay style, sound, and innovation

The StingRay 5 H, like the rest of Ernie Ball Music Man's StingRay bass lineup, claims roots that run back to 1971, when Ernie Ball Music Man was founded. Armed with a fat and punchy humbucker, active electronics, and a delightfully chunky neck it's no wonder the StingRay became a standard for such bass players as Guy Pratt, Cliff Williams, and Flea.

Ernie Ball Music Man StingRay 5 H 5-string Bass Features:
  • A performance-built bass any serious player can appreciate
  • Beefy humbucker with active 3-band EQ gives you fat and punchy tone
  • 3-way blade switch lets you select from series-humbucker, single-coil, or parallel humbucker pickup modes

You tried the rest , now try the best

Have several bass guitars Fenders, Yamaha, Gibson, this Music man blows them away. I'm playing out of Dbl stack 4/10s cabinets 2000 watts and this bass is awesome. No humming a solid clear in your face sound with very easy playing ability. Wow! If you have a chance to get your hands on one, grab it quickly. You wouldn't be disappointed. Professional quality built and hardware.

The only bass I need

Got my stingray 5 h right here from Sweetwater. Played warwicks, conklins and fenders for years and they've all since been sold off. Everything on it is just the way it should be, it's more comfortable than the classics, the neck blows away fender, the durability blows away Warwick. And the light weight blows away Conklin. The oil/wax neck finish is perfect, it's nice and smooth and stays constant wether you're on the 1st song of the night or the 15th song.

Love the SR5

The SR5 was on my list for a while but I was getting along just fine with my Fender 5'er. Finally decided it was time for something different and after trying a few basses the SR5 was it. With the EQ and pickup selector the single H pickup gives me all the tone options I need, it goes from sparkly sizzle to Motown thump and everything in between. Really versatile. Build quality on these new SR5s is superb and it has the best low B I've heard on a 34" scale bass, massive and punchy. It has my favorite 5 string neck too, narrower than Fender's and it's finished in a natural oil and wax so it's smooth in your hands, nothing sticks when you play up and down the neck. Really comfortable to play. If you're looking for a 5 string definitely check these out.

she is a keeper!

this thing just slices through the mix, clear as a bell and loads of bottom. I have a full stack (4x10 1x15) this bass sings like a bird and rolls like thunder! Love it!
