Self Proclaimed Audiophile
If you like big sound, GET THIS SPEAKER. It has incredible sound. Tight highs and tight punchy low. I live in an apartment and don't go past 5 on the volume. It can get very loud without distortion. I have two Bose Revolve+ speakers and this beats the crap out of them in the sound department. I cannot recommend this speaker enough. You won't be disappointed.
Elite Portable Speaker
I consider myself a speaker connoisseur. Price doesn't matter, I go for what sounds best to me. This is the best portable speaker its' size, hands down. I get request to bring it to parties (hotel rooms, recreational rooms etc.) It will fill a room the size of a basketball court with full sound including bass. Placement is important as it sounds best a few inches in front of a wall and on the floor for the best bass response. Bluetooth connectivity is not great but it works however, you can connect several different ways including digital audio. If you are more concerned with the quality of sound then this is totally worth the price!!! Add the old school look, Marshall got down with this one!
Outstanding sound
I was missing the old days of having a big stereo sound as opposed to tinny computer speakers, ear buds, or cruddy sounding bluetooth speakers. I was considering going the expensive component stereo route before seeing and hearing this little gem. All I can say is that the Stanmore has incredible sound and plenty of volume to spare. The cool thing is that it sounds better the louder it gets! Yes, the bluetooth connection can be sketchy, but I don't mind plugging directly into the unit just to get that great sound, in my mind that's a small price to pay. The issue might have something to do with the fact that the antenna is encased in a sturdy wooden frame, but again, only a minor issue for me compared to the sound.
Blown Away
I wasn't sure what to expect but after reading other positive reviews I decided to take a chance and I am glad I did. This little box puts out a sound you wouldn't believe. I was concerned it would be gimmick, all looks and no performance but this blows similar sized units out of the water. Talk about volume, I wouldn't dare put this thing past 5, its VERY LOUD. If you are looking for an upgrade from the similar priced Bluetooth speakers look no further. Look cool, sounds cooler.
This thing rocks!!
Didn't know what to expect...great looks and awesome sound. Very detailed sound....has some tight lows just don't expect it to sound like a 12" sub. Highly recommended!
Sounds great...but
It has a great sound, but the blue tooth connection is very sketchy. If the music source isn't close to the speaker, it cuts in and out.
Don't Buy to Use with Bluetooth
I've been able to get this to connect via Bluetooth 4 times in 5 months. How is it that my 5-year-old Jawbone Jambox works no matter what Ios or device I'm using? How is it possible that I can walk into other rooms with my IOS device and the Jawbone Jambox keeps the signal perfectly, meanwhile I can't get this Marshall to connect 90% of the time. I've done all the trouble shooting that is on the various forums and yes I can get it to connect after I tell my IOS device (iPad Pro, iPad 2, iPhone 6, etc) to forget the device, restart the IOS device, unplug and reconnect the Marshall. Why doesn't it work as well as the Jawbone??? Why didn't the geniuses at Marshall by a Jawbone and copy what works? I absolutely do not recommend this piece of gear. I should have returned it, my bad. Sweetwater has excellent customer service and I should have used it. I also give myself 1 star for being tot lazy to return it. On the plus side, it is pretty and sounds great if it ever gets connected, which just makes me hate it more!
Not compatible with iOS 10
Wow, I bought this speaker and it worked great while my iphone had iOS 9 on it. After updating to iOS 10 the blue tooth no longer works. It still works fine with my iOS 9 ipad... Apple says that this is Marshall's fault for making a speaker that doesn't have firmware update capability and I agree with them. Marshall says that they aren't responsible for future proofing their devices against iOS updates... which is only true if they don't plan to continue to sell the things! So basically, I have a EXPENSIVE Marshall amp shaped brick taking up space on shelf. If you have an iphone, which I'm certain that many of you do, then DO NOT BUY THIS!
